You're fired

Tonight the woman and I basically decided to kick one of the bridesmaids out of the wedding and ask someone to fill in for her. Two and a half months ago the dresses were picked out and each bridesmaid was to pay for it by the first of July. One bridesmaid decided to put it off and ask for an extension. Her deadline was today. She claims she bought it, but we double check with the shop and sure enough she has yet to pay for it.

It was difficult to come to this decision, but with the shady doings/stories of this one we decided it was best to choose someone more reliable. It all began when she asked for the first extension and then started with the story that she didn't know if she could make it or not because her brother's wedding could possibly be rescheduled for that same day. Now this I can understand, but this is the fourth time in 5 months that her brother's wedding has been rescheduled. Twice now it has been set and rescheduled the day before.

Oh well, she was a good friend of both the woman and me, but pulling this kind of sh!t does not fly with me.

Gotta love weddings. Two people decide to get married so a bunch of other people have to shell out a ton of money for their 'blissful' ceremony.

bridesmaids have to pay for their own dresses? that sucks.
Traditionally, yes. Taking this into consideration we went with a fairly inexpensive dress.

maybe she's low on cash and is too embarassed to admit it.

Definitely not an issue with her. This is something both of us considered, but after constantly hearing about all the trips she has made this summer I know money is not a problem. Trips included several flights to LA, the northeast, etc to attend concerts.

Does anyone know why Trump says your fired, when none of the "fired" people were actually hired in the first place?

When is the wedding?

September 3

That's pretty soon. Will your replacement be able to get a dress ordered and fitted in time?

Our wedding is August 12th and the bridal shop where the bridesmaids' dresses were ordered went bankrupt a few weeks ago. We managed to get the dresses, but now it looks like they're the wrong size. :|

Ouch man that sucks. Yeah, as long as we have the dress purchased in the next week and a half, we will have plenty of time to get it altered/sized.

Congrats on the wedding by the way.

Uhhhh, yeah. Good friend you are finding out what's up and if she might need help.

I take that back, if you say she's trying to get out of it I'll take your word for it.

Based on what I have chosen to post, I agree. However, I chose not to post all details.

Maybe they are hired to low positions.

<---- has never seen the show, nor any other reality show

Congrats on the wedding, balls on the dumb bridesmaid. Just be happy you don't have to worry about her anymore. Chances are she would've caused more problems the closer it got to be to the big day.

Heh, my g/f's sister is pissed off because it seems like the bride of a wedding for which she was a bridesmaid is trying to profit off of the dress purchases. Basically, the bride purchased Indian garments in India (which can be bought for next to nothing, maybe $50 max), and wants $200 for the dress (travel markup?).

I think it is a lot classier to pay for the bridesmaids' gowns for them. I love that you're "firing" your friend because she's not dancing to the whip you're cracking.

Anyone in the bridal party that can not give me a definite yes on attendance one month prior to the wedding is too much hassle.

I bet you're gonna have some kickass food at the reception, aren't ya?

As of right now everyone is getting prime rib. We are making a few exceptions for vegetarians and those who do not eat beef.
