Is it ok to cheat in school?
Does that make it ok to cheat in your job?
Theopetro's general thoughts on HS/College
I always saw highschool as a serious waste of time (well the classes at least, the friends and outside of class was amazing). Most of the teachers seemed to have some big authoritative bug up their asses. A lot of them were pretty damn petty and it bugged me to no end. They would flip over the most mundane stuff. Then I got to college and thought it would be a lot better. Nope the professors here are even more petty and seem to be slightly more retarded than the ones in highschool.
Now on to cheating...
I did it in highschool and didnt think much of it. I would palm pieces of paper with notes or vocab words on them for quizzes and what not. Homework was communal, we all got together before class and did it. Then came college. I haven't cheated yet in college and dont really plan on it. Not because I think its wrong or anything I just dont feel the need to. My girlfriend gets pissed when she sees or hears of someone else cheating but seriously who gives a ******? Not I said the theopetro. If they get some job over me because they cheated and got a better GPA then F em. I doubt I wont be able to find a job because I didnt cheat. It seems like cheating gets a really bad wrap when in reality its not that bad. If someone cheats in their fine art class and they are a chem major who is that really hurting? So maybe they dont have as full of an appreciation for the arts as they would have, big deal. Cheating in courses that do pertain to your major isnt a big deal, let alone the "electives" and "diversity" courses.
It seems like everyone has some big problem with cheating when in reality there are some much more serious issues that should be looked into.
I understand that cheating is a form of dishonesty but so is telling a little white lie like "ya your hair looks good" when you know full well they look like a douche. So why is cheating seen as something so evil and vile?
~sigh
I just dont get it.
