I think the best summary I heard was by Chris Matthews today when he talked about Bush mocking intellectuals throughout his career but, while in office, deciding to follow the findings of neoconservatives and turn into their salesman for the remainder of his Presidency.

My income in 2000 = x, income in 2004 = 3.4x, income in 2009 = 8x

I'm about to buy a House and a Cabin, get married and take a trip to Mexico. I came from a low middle class family and went to a 2nd hand state college. Can I complain?
