your next vacation

Where do you have planned?

Other than a few trips to seattle, I'll be going to long beach/LA in june for 4 days to relax in the sun.

Went to the Dominican during Christmas; didn't enjoy the resort type of experience too much.

A few of us are planning on going backpacking through Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam at the end of the year.

Not a vacation, just a couple of 3-day weekend getaways for me & the wife. The first one is to a goat show in Pennsylvania (fainting goats.) And, I urged her to purchase another goat from a certified CAE, CL, and Johnes free herd. That means we're going to have to take a business trip (darn it 😉 ) to the Virginia Beach area - kayaking & fishing in the ocean, a nice dinner, etc. (plus some meetings about goats & picking up the goat.) Then, about 2 months later, I'm going fishing.

I don't go on vacations. I find them a complete waste of money. Why spend $3k on something that will last a week, when you can buy something for your house that will last you years?

going 'somewhere' in May, but don't know where yet... my friend wants to go away for her birthday. she was thinking Disney World, but I keep thinking that it'd be miserable in late may/early june with school getting out.

I'm Going to Bermuda at the end of July, then Vegas in March of '11, followed by Italy in July of the same year.

Probably just go to Chicago for 4/5 nights sometime this spring, usually doesnt cost me more than 1000$ for 2.

Not sure. I spent more than enough time in Europe to learn that I'll need lots of money to enjoy the good life. If I'm going to explore anything else it will be America. I havent seen enough here just yet.

My next trip is June 4th with my wife, my step bro and his wife down to Cozumel for a short dive trip, then my wife and I are going to France, Belgium, Netherlands and departing from Germany after 13 days in early September.

Because the rest of us have minds worth enhancing with memories of amazing places. What are you going to buy, a TV to watch American Idol or any of the other amazing quality programming TV has to offer? *yawn*

Frugal. I have student loans to pay off, a mortgae to pay off, home improvements to think about, a couple kids to provide for. No sense spending money on a vacation that only lasts a week.
not having money is one thing (and I definitely understand that)

spending $500 on a tv because it'll last 2 years rather than $500 on a vacation is something else

Exactly. I'm 18 and can't afford much, but I did the best I could (about $1500) on a trip to LA with my GF. It'll be our first trip together. Lots of memories.

Skiing next weekend in New Hampshire, then probably nothing until some trips to the Cape and RI shore in the summer.
