Evangelion pwns naruto for pure quality.

However, Eva isn't even the best, IMHO. I would say a tie between gungrave and FMA, with FMA getting the nod in a tiebreaker.

EDIT: wait a minute. naruto has waaay more than 25 eps...unless I'm thinking of the manga again...

I'm not a big anime fan these days, but one that always holds up is Cowboy Bebop. Great character development, visuals, and score. Not many have such standout features.

Back in the pre anime-DVD days, I grabbed a lot of VHS fansubs, but out of all I saw, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne(good, but I was 16 in '96...), and eventually Evangelion were the main above-and-beyond titles. Today, I have a hard time watching/being interested in Esca and Eva, but CB is a good watch every 6 months or so.

Naruto all the way... definitely like how it combines so many different elements (humor, action, and plot) to make a really good mix... I have seen all 130+ eps... and never miss it

cowboy bebop, ghost in the shell - there is a class at cornell that actually makes you write a paper after watching ghost in the shell the movie.

The best series I've watched in a while is Full Metal Panic: Fuffomu. A few of the episodes rank among the funniest sh!t I've ever seen (the bathhouse episode in particular, if you've seen it you'll know what I'm talking about). I just love how they threw out all of the seriousness of the first FMP series and made a total screwball comedy with all the same characters.

The bath house ep was one of the 3 times I honestly pissed my pants since i've been older than 5. They pwn3d Gundam Seed too. Too bad its only like 13 eps.

Cowboy Bebop - Just started watching this and really like it.

Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 is another one that I have liked.
BTW: I have seen that there is a "Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2041" but have not found any DVDS.

I'm an old schooler.... Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku... Dragon ball (the original series)..I was pleased to see that Dragon Ball GT seems to be going back towards the style of the original.... Space adventure cobra the series (very rare find... got it from france and its in french only, thats not a problem for me though... since I originally watched anime in french when I was growing up)... cowboy bebop of course....
