Never big fan of a big robots fight. And ewww tentacles are mostly in hentai and that's just disgust me too (I prefer non tentacles one 😉)

But yeah, a lot of animes doesn't even have those. You can checkout Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop or Full Metal Alchemist. Great storyline too and no robots.

For movies: SPirited Away was fatastic IMO. Of TV series I always liked liquid television form MTV like Aeon Flux....

I was just being that sterotypical guy making funnies. I REALLY tried to like anime in college... heck everyone I knew watched it. I saw CowBe a few times, didnt like it. I saw some Trigun, didnt like it. Vampire Hunter D was pretty ok... but yeah, it just doesnt do it for me.
