Depends what day it is, sometimes it's because I have work, sometimes I'm going out with friends or seeing my fiancee or going to the cinema, sometimes it's my birthday or christmas, sometimes I'm hungry. Sometimes I don't.

I buy fireworks a week or two early, the stores get really crowded close to the 4th. So then, here I am with a few hundred dollars worth of awesome sitting in my kitchen with a week to go before the 4th. So, I light some because I'm impatient. This may be why many are lighting them, the 4th is close.
