Fireworks are illegal here. Feelsbadman.

You'd never know it around here. Lots of people have been out at night, trying out their fireworks haul for the season...The "war" usually starts a day or so before the Fourth...and continues for a week after.

Ah well, at least it's not Utah...where they have that second "fourth of July" near the end of the month...:p

theres ALWAYS a reason... sometimes its "just wanna hear it pop" or "wonder what it'll do to that patch of grass..."

Those are adequate reasons while drunk I'll give you that, but the fact that everyone was doing it is what confused me, I now know that it's because American Independence Day is coming up.

I knew I was a redneck long before I heard the fireworks. Although a true redneck just tosses a match in the bag of fireworks instead of lighting them individually.

But only after pouring excessive amounts of gasoline on them.

Sure but if everyone is started setting fireworks off around now, then there is a reason you fucking moron.

'tis the season that they're sold (near July 4th and all.). People just like setting them off when they have 'em. Half these people will blow their whole stash before it's even the 4th, and then have to make a mad dash for more just before the actual holiday.

Or at least that's always what happened with my friends and me back in college. ^_^

Yep, It makes perfect sense to me now that I realise American Independence Day is coming up. :)

i dont drink regularly. when i do, its 1 or 2 and im done. takes me a couple months to go through a 6pack. i just like blowing stuff up. now that its been sort of legalized here in AZ, i light them off whenever i feel like seeing an explosion. europeans are too uptight apparently.

We really aren't. For example there are no counties in the UK where fireworks are illegal, but there are places in America.

Holy shit, I need to amend this.

"You might be a redneck, if when you are in Great Clips waiting to get a haircut you hear the friend of a customer bitching about their crappy haircut for $14.00 and then saying it's highway robbery, they could just go buy their own razor and do it themselves."

All I could do was just o_O

I miss M-80s. :(

M-80's were cute, but we used to take half-sticks (about the size of a roll of toilet paper, and heard for a good 1/2 mile) and set them off in the street under those strong and heavy rubber garbage cans. The cans would fly higher than the telephone poles.

Kind of amazing that the neighborhood didn't care that 12 and 13 year olds were doing this (in NYC no less) 20 years ago. We did this every day from June - September. These days the kids would be locked up as teruhrists.
