I have half a mind to capture all the seeds and then dump them on the HOA presidents lawn at night, after a good rain so they'll grow nice and strong.

I wish they did this with people letting their dogs roam the neighborhood!!!!
When I mow, I love the smell of fresh dogshit in the morning! :|

I've heard on this forum before about lawn freaks...... Just put some grass killer into Ice cube trays, freeze them and then throw them into the yard of the complainer. I've never done it, but it's a good idea.

The ice will melt and grass will die with no evidence!

anyways...i never did understand how HOA has any authority other than to kick you out of the association, which is a big whoop-dee-fucking-doo to me...

Because land deeds can come with legal clauses.

Yeah, it's the huge fines that you have to pay. If you don't, they put a lein on your house.

smilax, or common greenbrier: http://www.cas.vanderbilt.edu/...mages/species/smro.htm

some comments about it: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2725/

I have this on my land. I have been trying to get rid of it for a while. It takes alot of hard work b/c it spreads by birds eating the berries and expecially by the shoots/root system that spread all over the damn place. I have dug up roots as long as 20 feet. These things have sharp thorns to cut and tendrils to grasp and climb. they take out trees just like Kudzu, but I believe their root system and hardiness is greater. this might be a step up from the kudzu if you want to ahve some real fun ;)

Try injecting weed killer directly into the plant.

Thanks for the suggestion. i have actually thought about this but i want to avoid toxic crap as I am trying to clear out the woods. Most of our land is woods, and we have none of the Smilzx in our actual yard. Plus, there is so much of it, it wouldbe very difficult to go around and do that and keep track of it all.

Does not have to be toxic to you. Use a mix of Viniger and salt. Works very well and will not kill ya.

To get rid of bambo I have been told to cut the stalk and pour the mix into it.

Yep, this sounds like your typical HOA.

I like the germinated dadelion idea and the roundup cubes idea, with the latter being preferred since it's so quick and simple with very little preparation required.

Well, if nobody likes her, maybe you could run against her. Or even better start a petition to dissolve the HOA.

That's what you get for living in the suburbs. Trendy Hyde Park in Austin has plenty of yards that are nothing but natural vegetation or gardens. One house has bamboo instead of a lawn.

shit, up here if you don't have dandelion the city will come after you. No more herbicide for our lawn beacuse it seeps into storm drain and goes to the lake.

Have you ever heard of kudzu ?
Its extremely tenacious and once it starts it tends to grow very very fast.

kudzu >>>> cluster bomb.

Holy crap

Once established, these plants grow rapidly, extending as much as 20 m (60 ft) per season at a rate of about 30 cm (12 in) per day

Kudzu roots are fleshy, with massive tap roots 10?20 cm (4?8 in) or more in diameter, reaching depths of up to 12 feet in older patches

Double crap! You'd need a back hoe and some agent orange to get rid of that crap!

no wonder you were vocal about HOA's in the other thread.

In all honesty I opened the letter, read the first few sentences and 2 seconds the dandelion bomb came to mind. I am now mulling over the consequences of this action/decision and weighing the pros and cons.

So far the pros have it. Blinded by rage I can see no negative outcome.

You're a better man than me, Spidey. I would've gone to the home of whoever signed the letter and salted the earth so that nothing would ever grow again.

Legal action...yeah right. They'll just fine your ass.

Besides, how hard is it to pull 10 dandelions out of your yard?

These are japenese dandelions exposed to the same kind of radiation that produced Godzilla. Their tap root runs 6 feet deep complete with hard spiny barbs that go all the way down.

Not so easy to just pull them up.

Does the threat of legal action destroy them?

Haha, I'm laughing pretty hard at that comment. Thanks.

time to fill up an armory of super soaker's and water balloons with grass killer and go on a neighborhood rampage in the middle of the night.
