Have you ever heard of kudzu ?
Its extremely tenacious and once it starts it tends to grow very very fast.

kudzu >>>> cluster bomb.

Holy crap

Once established, these plants grow rapidly, extending as much as 20 m (60 ft) per season at a rate of about 30 cm (12 in) per day

yeah :)
Kudzu is one of the those plants that they thought "we can bring it to the USA it will be great. and look it has a pretty flower"

And then........

"Oh my God! RUN , its growing everywhere !"

Yes, kudzu really is an amazing plant and would put dandelions to shame. There's a reason it is aka "the vine that ate the south." Of course, it really grows best in warmer, wetter climates like the deep south. Here's a great read on the history of kudzu in the US and here is an excellent gallery of kudzu photography (Note that the funny shape in the first picture on that link is actually an abandoned cabin - to put the scale of the image into perspective). For those that have never seen entire hillsides, trees, houses, etc covered by the green blanket, it really is a sight to behold.

Now, if you want something a little simpler and less invasive, my father once told me an interesting trick involving planting catnip under the bedroom window... any stray cats in your neighborhood?

Hmm... I thought Monsanto had more influence in Canadian govt than that.

I don't know why people voluntarily put up with these petty tyrannies.

My feelings exactly. Worse still is that they call them nazis and socialists when the HOA's CC&R's are all legally attached to that ultimate shining symbol of capitalism: the property deed.

Don't get fancy, spidey. Just wait a few days until the dandelions go to the fluffy seed stage, then mow without a bag, making sure to point the mower in the direction of your neighbors.

I have half a mind to capture all the seeds and then dump them on the HOA presidents lawn at night, after a good rain so they'll grow nice and strong.

We get a huge "crop" of them every year, I could save a couple of giant Zip-Loc bags of seeds for you. :p

When I signed the restrictions were very lax. They have now become the tyranny they are. Give bored housewives something to do as they walk around the neighborhood and my situation is what you get.

Especially since the president hasn't seen a hot dickens cider since I've been here.

I got a notice for having dog poop on my sidewalk. I don't even have a dog! Dumb bitch takes here dog to poop on my sidewalk and then cites me for it. Decision made, it's on. Funny thing is all my neighbors love me.

I also got a notice for not having the proper sized and correct font on my mailbox!

To say I have a bone to pick would be an understatement.

VIC
I get my yard treated, and sure it's a little under the weather after last years drought. They've been seed for a good 3 weeks now. Even though they are dieing they're prolific little fockers. Calling treatment company tomorrow to complain.

Take some roundup, and freeze it in ice cube trays. Then go out at night to the president of the HOA and other HOA officials, and throw the cubes on their lawns. Hilarity will ensue.

Well that is vengeful and destructive. Great idea though as roundup kills EVERYTHING.

I just want her to taste a little of her own medicine she is dishing out. This isn't passive aggressive behavior as my endeavors have been supported by my neighbors after talking with them this evening. You know, actually keeping good relationships with your neighbors.

Operation dandy-bomb is a go.

Water balloon with Roundup in it will leave a nice dead spot on a lawn.

Crap like this is why I would never live in a neighborhood with an HOA. Every one of them has at least one person with nothing better to do than get into everyone else's business.

Tossing cubes vs. walking on their lawn = just passing through, nothing to see here.

The thing is I'm a big believer in keeping good relations with your neighbors. Mine watch after my pets, have a few beers with me and we're all friendly and look after each other. She on the otherhand is late 40 something, hit with the ugly stick about two dozen times too much, never married, no kids, has a psychotic dog and this is her hobby.

You've seen cat lady from the Simpsons? That's her.

They're harassing you over 10 dandelions? Sure they can take "legal action" but there's no way a court would agree with the HOA on this one.

LOL
Some of those quotes:

In Georgia, the legend says
That you must close your windows
At night to keep it out of the house.
The glass is tinged with green, even so...

In eighteen years of research, he has found that one herbicide actually makes kudzu grow better while many have little effect.

Common names for kudzu include:
mile-a-minute vine,
foot-a-night vine,
and the vine that ate the South.

Now that I think about it, using kudzu on the HOA might be a bad idea.
It could very well consume the neighborhood :)

A good amount of my family is in the carolinas. It's not something to play with. You see it, you kill it and report it. Just like a snakehead.

I will never again sign away my better judgement to a bunch of self righteous busybodies such as ran the HOA I was in.

If they have a thick lawn, to get them to have any hope of germination, you're going to have to spread them when its rainy and going to be rainy for a few days.

lol on the dandelion sabotage. I say you should definitely do it.

They can threaten to take your house away for this stupid crap.

+1 for the dandelion sabatoge. Just make sure all the members on the board get some, too.

And watch out for cameras. Might want to wear a dark hoodie when you plant them.

Be sure and get pics of the offending board members yard and dandelions for the next meeting, too.

I say you dump more than just dandelion seeds on their lawn. How about some other really annoying plant life that's easy to plant but hard to remove? How about crab grass or weeds?

Then you can send them a notice and gently remind them that they have 7 days to comply else legal action would take place. I suggest you saturate enough seeds such that it would take 4-5 people more than 7 days to clear.

POS HOA!
