Explain to them about the mysteriously missing decimal point in your original $5.00 bid, then tell them that you're only 13 years old and can't enter into legally binding contracts anyway.

If either of the above gambits fail, just start crowing like a rooster and attempting to peck them. Strut around a lot in a wildly exaggerated way. Then ask for their daughter's phone number. Extra points if she's 8.

Yea, that's in pretty crappy condition, by the time I got done with it, I would have probably replaced every single part on it, thus making buying the car in the first place a complete waste of time.

It has way too much cancer and it looks like the body is going to fall apart at any moment. The fact that it doesn't run probably means that the engine is in similar condition, and I would suspect the interior is also fairly trashed.

It think this car may have seen its last days on the road.

From the looks of it its not in bad shape...... have a little creativity and imagination. Imagine it with a nice paint job....... the body doesn't look too bad, just needs some sanding, priming and painting. Are there any actual HOLES in the body? Those can easily be repaired.

How is the interior?

Just imagine that car with a nice paint job (not too hard to do) and some rims.

Engine may be another story. Doesn't look too bad.

After about 6 months, when the rust comes through again, and considering that nothing seems to line up the way it should. You'll have a rust bucket with nice rims ;)

Nice Rims & Annoying Muffler != Nice Car (Wish some people would get a clue).

I"ve painted cars myself without any problems.

I stripped down my bro's 924 to bare metal... primed and painted it GLOSS BLACK for about $500 bucks.

2k, ya, if you pay someone else, but I wouldnt buy a "fixer upper" unless I was gonna do it myself :)

A Dell 2001FP or 2005FPW LCD would be a better purchase.

if he's thinking of ways to try to pay the mechanic, he might in fact have to declare bk after this purchase.

You mean there's a non-ugly porsche series??

Oh no you didn't! The 959 was the best looking Porsche ever.

That's why you aim for Overhaulin rather than Pimp My Porsche. Granted you'd have to fabricate a bit of backstory and lie through your butt and pretend you have no idea what's going on, but the end result is worth it.

But, uh, yeah, waste of monies. Buy a set of Porsche nameplates and toss them on any other vintage sportscar. Chicks won't know the difference.

Not worth it.

Find a 924 with a blown engine and emmaculate body for more or less the same price;
drop in something light but powerful.. turbo'd chevy aluminum V6?
...

After sitting for 22 years you're going to need to completely rebuild the engine, all of the seals and gaskets and rings are probably dried and cracked, for that matter you may have rust problems that are unsalvagable. The body looks rusted, and the car probably had enough stuff wrong with it in the first place to warrant it just sitting there for so long. Porsche parts will bend you over the barrel, and the 924 is a poor man's Porsche and not much of a performer either. Walk away. Or do like Perknose suggest and take pics.
