no single player? no money.. being stomped by people with non stop time to play is not my idea of fun.. never seen a matchmaker where people actually chose Noob level when they where ... Mister ADD who can click 30 things in 1 second and has a 100-1 win ratio will play NOOB.. sucks for the people trying to get a grasp.

and yes, i have played in RTS ladders, im an average player.. just sick of people upping stats by selecting easy targets in matchmaking services.

Not a fan of graphics. The original has a nice "feel" to it. Robots looked like they are made of metal.

Here, it all looks like some sort of a silly cartoon. And robots are made of plastic.

Just look at the engine exhaust. Sooo cartoonish!

Not backing this unless I see they taking this sequel seriously.

You could do multiplayer with bots. That's pretty much all I ever do in Forged Alliance anymore. Never really touched the campaign.

I look at it as an investment/risk and I don't usually put in that much $ so it's not a huge deal for me...

and i hope the graphics videos shown are rough and not the final versions.

People are so silly to pay for these games that aren't even written yet....

A functional ladder matches noobs against noobs and Mister ADD against his own kind, it doesn't let anyone choose whom to play. That is what happens in Starcraft II.

two good replies.. multiplay with bots.. that i could deal with.. at least till i get a grasp of game play mechanics (yes RTS, build and destroy, but the finer points 🙂 ) and Starcraft II has a good matchmaking service? I must admit I tried it the first few days (everybody was a noob I supose then). ego complety bruised I havent been back 🙂 maybe will take a look again. but i wasnt a fan of it (SCII) with this day/night or lava flow gameplay.. to hinder the game speed. Starcraft might just be the best RTS anybody will ever play.. personally RA II is my favorite but for balance.. SC might just be as close to perfection as anybody will get.

but as this is TA.. its one of my favorites too.. (heck i even loved Kingdoms.. not so much super Commander)

I checked to make sure there was AI skirmishes and there are. I wouldn't have bought if it was only multiplayer. I don't care for campaign. I would play it just to play it. Only homeworld: Cataclysm had a campaign worth playing for the RTS genre.

Glad this game made it. Onward and upward, spread the word!

If you liked the game otherwise, you should! 🙂

When you go on the 1v1 ladder (the actual ladder, not the novice mode) you first get five placement matches. The game will deliberately match you against some weak players and some really good ones. After those five games you have a ladder rank, and you start getting matched opponents.

Don't be confused if you get murdered in some matches and win easily in others. At the low end of skill, that's just how it is - no one plays consistently. But you should start seeing close to 50/50 win ratio. When you become more skilled and get higher up the ladder, you will get less one-sided wins and losses because there are more players to match you with.

Those special gimmicks only exist in two single player missions (out of 29 total single player missions). They are not in multiplayer.

Yeah, I was all for it, until I read there is no SP campaign.
Not worth the headache of putting up with all the idiots in MP games.
Skirmish games are ok, but I really rather have a story driven campaign mode.

Meh only RTS I've ever played the whole single player were, C&C (up to #3), Red Alert 1 & 2, World in conflict. On the C&C/RA I've played skirmishes 10 times more, WIC multiplayer more. So yeah a story is nice but only if it's challenging

This team has made some of my favorite games... C&C Generals Zero Hour, Battle for Middle Earth, Supreme Commander (1), Enter the Matrix... The heavenly thought of no EA overlords on this project made me donate. Definately looking towards their July 2013 release. These guys are worth supporting. The thought that they left their respective companies and banded together is inspiring and leaves some hope for the future of decent RTS games. Generals 2 is now officially crap due to its revelation into pay-2-win territory.

Their $1,500,000 stretch goal of metal space station planets sounds awesome, sure hope more support their project.

I'm guessing Chris Taylor isn't backing this?

No support from me unless he is.

Chris Taylor was my HERO for the longest time, but he has been nothing but a disappointment the last couple years. It looks like he forgot what makes a fun game. SC2 was GARBAGE!!!
