YES! Total Annihilation Sequel!

Backed. Hopefully they do better than Supreme Commander as a sequel, and let's not get into Total Annihilation: Kingdoms.

Wow, that looks pretty awesome. Will definitely be considering supporting. Can't tell, however, if there is a story driven campaign.

At the bottom of the page it has a short little FAQ, no it is multiplayer only currently (who knows maybe if they hit a certain level of funding one of the tiers is a single player campaign).

Think I might have to jump on this.

One question, unless I missed it, did they say when they expect to have this released?

I've never been too big of a fan of TA, but I backed it anyway. Some of those games they're proudly saying gives them game making cred makes me a little worried though... I hope the guys they got from Demigod weren't the netcode ones... and Battlespire... really? someone would admit to working on that thing?

damn, think I'll hold off then.

Same here. The game had a great fan base and the developers were always working on new content. I just could not get into the game

Total Annihilation was my main game for 2 whole years.
But I never played multiplayer, so I'll just keep my eyes on this.

Total Annihilation is a fantastic RTS, but this isn't a sequel. It may have the spirit of TA in a sense, but it's clearly not "TA"; the maps are too small for a start, at least judging by the trailer.

I think I will back this though, TA and Supreme Commander are some of the uniquely strategic RTS games out there, other games are far too small scale to be considered working at the strategic level.

I hope the trailer was just a proof of concept of where they want to go. I'm intrigued, but the visuals are too cartoony, too animated, to flat. They don't look good.

Agreed. It looks a little too unlike TA and a bit too much like Spore, the size of the planets being decidedly odd, IMO.

the graphics arent terribly impressive, but good enough

the small planets, but adding the moons, asteroid rings like they showed, intrigues the hell out of me

I always in TA I was always was getting the AI's pinned then building nukes and berthas to bombard them to nothing

I love the idea, I just hope the planets are larger, that's all.

Me and my $100 are backing this.

Come on folks, jump in. Only $18k to halfway point, and statistically Kickstarters' ultimate chances of success being funded increase dramatically once they get past halfway. So many stragglers will only come in after they start believing they see a project close to success, which is sad because there's nothing to lose by backing something that fails, and Kickstarter exists precisely to avert this "first-investor problem".

The music in TA was a huge part of the quality, and unfortunately I doubt they'll be in the same ballpark there. Why not license the original music?
