lmao. Boohoo poor little white boys, sitting in their cubicles typing their rage on anandtech.

As usual, the lefty fringe displaying their true colors. Double standards and racism are apparently just fine, so long it's done by someone they agree with. If someone else does it, then there's a problem.

Poor little oppressed child. Getting hassled by the cops is just like years of systemic abuse by police.
Seriously! I remember when my grandfather did a stint in prison for theft. It was terrible. Spending over two years in prison was....oh that's right. I don't know a frigging thing about my grandfather's stint in prison, because people don't 'magically' beam their experiences between each other using ESP.

My grandfather could have spent five years at Auschwitz and it wouldn't affect me in the least, just like the past experiences of blacks 50 years ago don't automagically transport into the bodies of current generation blacks who never experienced those things.

Maybe they long for the days when they could persecute minorities and not have to worry about the consequences..or maybe not.

Your idiocy knows no bounds. It's about fairness. The "minorities" wanted fairness at first, now it is about getting back at the man.
That's the way it is. Hell even the President feels this way. The evidence is in all his apologizing to everyone "for the way America has acted". You're only lying to yourself if you think any other nation or group of people in the world had had the prosperity of the US that they wouldn't have done the same thing.

That has to do with who I would want for president and I was very clear who I do NOT want for president. And muslims, gays, athiests aren't a race.

What does that have to do with double standards and racist attitudes of liberals?

Hahahaha, yeah guys! Spidey isn't racist, he's just a religious bigot and a homophobe!

People would be warned for racism and this thread would be locked on 90% of news boards.

Comments about "white this" and "white boys that" would be met with warnings/bans/etc.

The same I would expect if someone made generalizations about any other race.

We're just sick and tired of hearing minorities complain about the same things white people have to endure, but minorities expecting special treatment or compensation for it.

My neighbor was complaining that he was pulled over and ticketed for having tinted windows. He said he thought he was being "profiled" because he was Hispanic.

OK, well that would explain why I'm as white as they come but also was ticketed around the same age for tinted windows (in a different state). What do minorities think the police do in predominantly white communities, sit in their cars all day long doing nothing until a minority drives by?

I grew up in a community that was about 92% white, surrounded by several other communities that were about 92% white. The police were very active pulling over white young males for trivial violations, especially if you were in a car with two or more white young males.

If you got lippy with them or challenged their reasoning for stopping you, you got man-handled and searched. Worse, they would remember you and pull you over for nothing the next time. Generally speaking, if you had no history with them or were very respectful, they wouldn't pull you over unless you actually committed a violation, even if it were a trivial one. But if you disrespected them, they would pull you over for absolutely nothing the next time, just to see what you might be doing or might have in your car.

If we drove to a neighboring town, we got pulled over because they did not recognize us as a local. I remember being asked once, "What are you doing so far from home?" WTF? Its not like I'm coming from Yemen or Libya, I lived eight freaking miles away!

If you are young and male, particularly if you drive a flashy or sporty car or have multiple young male occupants, you get profiled in every jurisdiction in the USA, period.

Where's the outrage? Where's my check? Where's my victim advocacy group?

Yeah man, I bet minorities' complaints about racial profiling are because of window tint tickets.

I don't even know where to start with your post. I don't know where you grew up, but you need to get out more.

Minority complaints about racial profiling are because of every perceived slight, whether actual or imagined. My sense is, having grown up in Whiteytown USA and spent my adult life in racially/ethnically diverse areas of Michigan and California, a lot more of it is completely imagined.

It so happens I have Cherokee ancestors. Many died along the Trail of Tears. They were for all practical purposes exterminated, something even Hitler couldn't do to the Jews.

I don't cry a tear for anyone black or white who acts like this dick did, but I bet he still has his job and he wouldn't if he weren't a minority.

Well lookie here

http://www.columbiaspectator.com/20...essor-assaults-arts-school-employee-local-bar

Seems Colombia was pressuring Davis to keep quiet about the whole thing and that Colombia "doesn't comment on police investigations"

Bullshit. If some white prof had been going into bars race and for years been race baiting blacks then sucker punching a black woman, he'd have been canned and they would have had a lot to say about it.

A college of cowards, where racists of the right color are protected.

White rage? Give me an effin break.

WTF does have to do with anything? You think Blacks are getting away with shit because they are Black? Talk about idiocy, just look at the disproportionate black population in prison, doesn't seem to me they are getting away with anything because they happen to be black.

Spoiled little bitches, you think you have it so rough:rolleyes:

You realize, I hope, that when a lunatic looks at the world he sees madness, no? None of this evidence you speak of is evident to normal people. Your job is to stop raving like a mad man and actually demonstrate what you claim is proof. Where are these apologies and how are they getting back at the man. By the way, it was a woman who was hit.

JL: You're only lying to yourself if you think any other nation or group of people in the world had had the prosperity of the US that they wouldn't have done the same thing.

M: Sorry but you are lying to yourself if you think that claiming somebody is a liar makes them a liar. All you tell us here is that you are an asshole who would commit evil acts where you have the power to do so. When you judge something without being able to lay out reasons, you are just projecting our own psyche out there.

Excuse me Hayride, who says he's getting away with it? He could do time for what he did and he'd deserve it, not because he's black and she's white, but because it's against the law to assault someone like that. If it's his first offense he might get probation but if it's not he'll end up doing time.

Shit dude, poor blacks are getting fucked, but the elite get to beat the shit out of people and get off the hook. It could have been your wife, and if this sonovabitch got released and protected you'd be apeshit and you know it.

He got away with this because he IS black AND he's a Colombia prof. Either alone and he'd be screwed because of what he did.

He's released and he isn't being charged for the same add on crime that he would have if the situation were reversed. Columbia would have fired his ass and the ones who were crying for the policemans blood in Boston would be back at it. "Another Black Professor Racially Assaulted"

Now tell me after all your years here that wouldn't be the case.

It happens that ALL this shit needs to be handled the same or not at all.

This is a totally different circumstance, two acquaintance in a bar drinking getting in an argument and one assaults the other. Unless it can be proven that the professor attacked the woman because of her race it's just a basic case of assault and battery.

So wait. This guy comes in and baits people racially. He's done this before according to reports. He and she get into an argument and it's about how she's privileged. That's also reported. He pushes her around. That's reported.
Then he sucker punches her. Maybe there was a bug on her and he was brushing it off?

The Colombia papers reports that the female professor didn't come forward for three days because the college was pressuring her to keep quiet.

A woman is beaten by a male professor, and there's no feminists complaining?

Maybe she was wearing too short a skirt and was begging for it.

Edit: and to think of it, all that "racism" about that officer, and race never came into the issue except when the black professor brought it up. He made the charge and it never stuck. I can go back and pull post after post of accusations of racism regarding an officer who had just about the best record possible regarding race relations. That didn't stop them here though did it?

Here there wasn't any question, but that doesn't count now.

You think if this woman was black and disagreed with him he wouldn't have hit her? It seems this guy is just an asshole who has anger problems. She should press charges and he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Assaulting another person is fucked up and hitting a woman is even worse so don't get me wrong, think this guy is a piece of shit no matter what race he is, I just don't see the aspect of how it was denying a person their civil rights based on race.

Actually it did, when everything came to light a lot of us changed our opinion of the situation. The problem was the way the media first reported it which made it seem like the a situation that has been repeated time and time again. Fortunately for the Cambridge Police Officer is wasn't though I still don't believe he handled it correctly but at least I know it wasn't due to him being a racist or racially profiling the Harvard Prof.

Maybe I misunderstand you. If you are saying that if a white cracker beats a black woman because he starts going on about how she's getting special treatment then punches her because she disagrees, then say he is just a dick and it wasn't a race crime, then OK.

Then let's just get rid of race crimes and punish for what was actually done.

If not, then it applies in both situations. It shouldn't be one sided.

So you don't believe in hate crimes:? If Klansman burns a cross on a black persons lawn, a group of straight guys beats the shit out of a Homo because he's a Homo or a Jew firebombs a Palestinians store or vice versa you don't think that's a hate crime?

I remember that you initially had him in the "guilty" column, but as facts came out you changed your mind. That's why I never brought you up specifically as one of those from the other thread. You knew you had missed on the initial assessment and changed as facts came out.

You mention the press. Well, they had him tried in advance, and they found themselves caught in an awkward situation, not being able to use the tried and true bad cop line. Some even had to backpedal, bringing up his "heroism" since they clearly couldn't railroad this guy.

The assumption was "White Cop Bad" "Black Prof Good"

In a way that's not only insulting to the police, but the black community. We hear about black history, and having the White Man's Burden, we make excuses for the poor black things who aren't yet able to tell right from wrong.

No matter how intelligent, hardworking or diligent they may be, they are after all not able to tell right from wrong sometimes.

That is something brought home by inner city blacks I worked with at that time. I mean blacks who live in shit and have real race problems. Not this dickhead who lived a gilt life by comparison.

They were pissed off that the cop was getting beat up on, and the prof was the victim. They maintained they weren't children who have to cry "whitey" when things don't go their way.

I remember one young man put it quite well "This fucker (the prof) should have gotten the shit beat out of him. He's using stupid white people. He's not one of us because we don't do stupid shit and say that you are holding us down. We don't need a white man to come to our defense."

Well it's not quite precise, because he used the more colorful words more often.

Nevertheless, there are people who are proud and black, but because of what they do, not because they are black. Now that I can respect.

Only if it can be proven that he assaulted her because she was white, not because she disagreed with him. I'm thinking this guy would hit his own mother if he had enough drinks in him and she had the audacity to disagree with him, being a Columbia Professor and all..in other words, a fucking asshole

Pointing out hypocracy does not put you on the same level as the hypocrites.

I think "hate crimes" are bullshit and should be ruled unconstitutional. But if you are going to have them, they have to be applied equally.
