You will not find an application for this card online, although the terms and conditions may be viewed here. Rather, American Express will extend an invitation to customers who meet certain criteria. American Express will not confirm, but it is generally believed the requirements are to:
  1. Use other American Express cards (compare American Express cards here)
  2. Be an active cardholder for at least one year
  3. Charge at least $250,000 per year
What It Costs

  • Initiation Fee: $7,500
  • Annual Fee: $2,500
If you are one of the chosen few who receive an invitation to apply, you’ll have to pay these hefty fees. There is no interest rate because it’s not a credit card. Rather, it’s a charge card, so the balance must be paid in full each month.

You can meet all three requirements and that's no guarantee for invite. My business partner meets all the requirements and spends over $1 million a year on his personal Amex Platinum and he still haven't got an invite. His average monthly Amex Platinum bill is ~$100k.

I rock Costco Amex. Free with annual Costco membership. I have no interest in Platinum, Black, or any card with annual fee.

Is the cashflowing the entire business on amex?

I think the visa black one is slightly cheaper version of the amex platinum.

No one know for sure the exact protocols/requirements for this AE black card. The charges on my business are about 250K - 300K per year and I paid off all of them on time, never late, but haven't receive any invitation for this AE black card.

In the colder regions, junk mail makes for good, and free fire starter.

Also, aside from annual fees, the Visa black isn't too bad is you're a 1%er. You won't get that coveted AMEX black unless you're a .01%er though.

actually if you are going to a part of us 1% er`s you need to ditch the chrome plated crap and get yourself either platinum plated or 24 carat gold plated....

In fact it's much more likely for us to retire early because we have no social life of any kind and almost never spend money.

And retarded doesn't mean stupid...when everything went on stupid crazy ass fire sale I used most of my savings to buy it all. My investments did fantastically well. Even if you just bought and held a single stock like the dow you would have more than doubled your money since what 2009? I did better than double.

I manage to keep extremely low living expenses so I can live comfortable on $600 a month.
