Don't use free weights and you don't need a spotter....

Or you can just bench the dumbbells :), assuming you have them in 50+ lbs.

That actually yield a better look, because it bulks all the stabilizer muscles.

Oh, I do. People who have supermodel looks are not these "buldging" meathead types. But I should have more yes, but being all "meaty" looking is no requirement for supermodel good looks.

Excessive muscle training is a juvenile and primitive form of self improvement.

Hmmm, so should I do the dumbbells instead of the bar? I've been doing 3x8 with the bar and usually need to be spotted for that very last rep. Should I up the weights and do 2x10?

How long have you been doing 3x8 for? You might want to cut down to 5x7 for a while...

I've never understood why it is so hard for you to die. Car wreck, lightning, rabid dog, cruise missile, whatever. Throw us a bone, God.

My one-rep max is around 250, used to be closer to 275 but I slacked off for a while. I love lifting, I just wish I loved jogging as much so I'd drop some chub. I'm 6'1", around 250, a little more maybe.

JLGatsby is showing how retarded he is by pretending he's an expert on every single thing that ever walked on the face of the earth.

In Soviet Russia...everyone benches JLGatsby!

A proper bench press is going to use your chest a /lot/ more than your forearm/biceps, btw. Sounds like someone doesn't work out... :p

All this time, I was thinking I was thin..but I could probably bench him for a warmup. :p

kicknut, have you tried benching with dumbells and not barbell? Just wondering how much you've done with dumbells.

That's like, average non-workout benching weight. Your forearms and biceps don't do ****** for a benchpress anyway. Asshat.

Congrats. Doing more is always good.

5"10, 83Kg (182.6lbs),

1RM : 105Kg 231lbs
198lbs for 6reps; 4reps x 3 sets

165lbs x 12reps x 4 sets with one minute rest inbetween sets.

Mix it up. Some period do high volume 12reps x 4 sets with short rests then some other periods go heavy and do 6reps x 5 sets. Then go heavier still and hit up 3reps x 6 sets. Periods should be between 4-6 weeks or 8 weeks deepnding on what your doing.

I don't BP often but my numbers are alright.

Make sure you do dips. They have seriously jacked my BP. Haven't BP in ages but I was doing loads of dips and weighted dips and hit 198lbs for 6reps :).

I have recently been working with DB bench press. I now use 30Kg DB haven't done these in years as I have always used a barbell when I BP.

The GOLD standard is the 1.5x bw bench press. Few people can do this along with the other 3 gold standards of strength

Military Press 1x
Bench Press 1.5x
Back Squat 2x (not the half assed leg twitch thing, but all the way down)
Deadlift 2.5x

I'll have to nail them all before I'm 30 :)

No but being in shape and having a muscular body helps them unless you are going for the cheeky "Heroin Addict" look so many of the Skinny Models have.

Excessive muscle training is a juvenile and primitive form of self improvement.
Depends what you mean by excessive. IMO 4 or 5 hours weight training a week is not excessive and will produce a muscular physique if done right.

JLGatsby has to be the biggest tool on the face of the planet. If he ever shows up to an ATOT meet, I will expect pictures of the 17 year old skinny white boy.
