Did 175lb max today, previous max was 165. I usually go to gym 2-3 times a week, been working on bench press lately. I'm 19, about 140lb, 5'8. Share your stories too :p

I'm at about 225 (bench), but I'm not trying to build anymore. I'm happy with my numbers, just doing maintainence and toning (there's a line between muscular and big).

Congrats, just remember to do a well-rounded workout. If you're starting to work out seriously, you should do a 3-day split with your three days a week (as tempting as it may be to spend every time on the bench)

heh I was struggling for a long time, did 45 plates(135) barely 3-5 times. Then I learned that I need to warm up with medium weight because without warmup I can't do much my muscles become too stiff and shoulder hurts. So then I increased weight a bit each time. I did 9 reps of 135 today, also my best so far :D

You're a weakling. My forearm is about the same size as my biceps and I've benched 110 (one rep), and if I can do 110 (nearly my weight), everyone else should be able to do twice that because I am teh noodle arms.

You are a Fvcknut. Also, I could easily do 50 reps benching YOU.

I work out for like 20 minutes every weekday (for school break).

Military press max = 145 lbs.
Lat pull down max = I never tried, but around 160 lbs.

I've never understood why it is so hard for you to die. Car wreck, lightning, rabid dog, cruise missile, whatever. Throw us a bone, God.

Whatevers, when I spoke of "biceps," I meant from my elbow to my shoulder. I do not know the specific term for that entire part of the arm.

Bicep + Tricep = Quintcep?

Well, I could beat you on amount, but not on ratio.... Nice dude. That's almost competition level for your weight.

Bicep + Tricep = Quintcep?

Biceps=retractor muscles
Triceps=extensors

Hence, you bench mostly with your triceps. You curl with triceps. The muscle group is the brachius.

I nearly got 295 up 4-5 weeks ago but my bench has dropped since then. Right now I'm working on getting an 8-rep set of 245 (I was doing that 4-5 weeks ago). Overall goal is to hit 315 (3 plates of 45 on each side). I'm not interested in getting any bigger though and will probably just go into maintenance mode (sets of 245, maybe multiples of 225) once i hit my bench goal.

That just means that you don't have any biceps/triceps. Your forearm is supposed to be smaller than the latter.

Don't use free weights and you don't need a spotter....

It is, but not by much.
