this is another reason the whole tipping thing needs to be abolished. it turns humans into animals. it turns us against our own brothers and sisters. once this makes it to the ballots, voting will be worthwhile again.

Pizza guy is an idiot. All he has to do is go back to work, declare no tip received and he gets paid the difference from his delivery hourly rate to the minimum wage rate. Drivers never declare their full tips anyway on tip logs.

nah, couldnt be. it wasn't being delivered to 'your mom's house'.

I have to agree. While performance based pay is a good idea, tips are not a good way to approach it.

hmm not when i did delivery for pizza hut.

i got paid minimum wage. its not a "server" position so they have to pay at least that (i got $.25 more woo!) plus at pizza hut you got $.50 a delivery anyway.

If the delivery fee plus tip don't equal minimum wage, the franchise is required to make up the difference. Then there is the issue of wear and tear on the car plus gas.
Big problem for pizza hut right now.
Lot's of wage and hour lawsuits/notices as a result of this issue. At work I'm dealing with this (work in the insurance industry and PH is a client).

Guy should have chased the fucker down, run past him, then turned abruptly and shot him. By passing the urine sprayer and shooting from the front, I think he would lessen his chances of getting tased by a rouge cop.

While I agree with you, there's this.

You pay a couple dollars more for the pizza vs. pickup, then there's a delivery charge, then there's a tip. From the consumer pov it's triple dipping.

I never order delivery anymore because of this.

So, I've been busy studying for midterms and such all week and I have been ordering delivery practically every night from the same sandwhich shop. I started off giving $2 tips but ordering delivery at $9 an order + tip starts to take a toll on my money stash so I started giving $1 instead. When I call, they already know where I am and know what I want. Soup, Sandwhich, and a Diet Coke..call me when you get here, don't knock...etc.

So, I give the kid last night a $1 and he looks at the reciept for a while before handing me my food. I'm standing there like "ummm?". I was actually holding onto the bag and he wouldn't let it go. Then he sighed, released the bag and left.

Welp, Midterms are over as of today. After I finish voting for Bronco Bama, I'm going to buy groceries. Hes lucky he got that fucking tip.
