Yep, that is crazy, wish people hadn't kept asking the ATF if they were legal.

I don't like the travel restrictions with NFA guns, I live close to 3 state borders.

Don't worry, on July 13, 2016 you will no longer need to inform the ATF that you are transporting your registered NFA item.

I picked up both of these from a friend today for $400 total -

They actually used to be my grandfathers, and he sold them to my good friend when I was off in the military, and he offered to let me buy them from him at a discount. Though the SKS has been wronged with Tapco (my grandfather did that during the AWB, for reasons), it is a Izhevsk 1954 Soviet SKS, everything matching. We have the original wood and other parts for it somewhere, just have to find them.

Very nice. Looks like you got a great deal for $400. Looks like the other one is an M1 Carbine? My brother has said he likes them so I always keep my eye out for a good deal on one. They're a lot more expensive than I thought they would be.

Or, perhaps a Mini 14 or Mini 30?

It is just a stainless Ruger mini-14, that also used to be my grandfathers. I actually used to use that rifle to hunt coyotes as a kid, so it's nice to not only have it again but help a friend out. I actually offered more money, but he wouldn't take more than $400 for the pair.

Oh, duh. Yeah I dunno why I thought that was an M1 Carbine. Cool nonetheless though!

Finally, my CC permit was approved, sheriff's dept just called. Now if Alien Gear would ship me my new kydex for the IWB holster...

What are you going to carry?

I like oddball calibers, Glock 39. Found a used AG IWB holster on eBay, sent in the Kydex for a Glock 39 shell, they do the exchange for free.

Maybe a single stack 9 eventually or a pocket revolver... Did a pocket carry in Texas, dunno how I'll like an IWB holster yet.

I have this Desantis nemisis, 5+ years old.

Used to work fine. Now it's too tight around pistol and the holster comes out with it. I haven't done anything to it so I'm not sure what the problem is. The only recent change is that I'm keeping it in a gunvault at night. I wonder if the foam liner has compressed the shape too much around the cylinder?

Thoughts/suggestions/fixes? Thanks.

Edit: I cut 2 cardboard shims and stuffed the pistol in. Much better after only an hour.

Nearly ordered the Liberty Cosmic suppressor from SilencerShop this past weekend since it's now in stock. I held off due to not sure about spending the money quite yet, as well as not being sure what attachment device I'd need. I was thinking of trying it out on my 22/45 Lite since it's the only firearm I have currently with a threaded barrel.

I guess after doing some reading, I'd need the Fixed Mount for my 22/45 Lite pistol (fixed barrel .22LR), as well as for rifles though in a different thread pitch. The Booster is for centerfire semi-auto pistols so they can cycle properly.

I liked pocket carry, like I said, the IWB will be my first "holster" honestly don't know how I'll like it. I used an Uncle Mike's pocket holster, when I pocket carried, worked fine, if I do it again, I like the Kydex pocket holster by Alabama Holsters: http://www.alabamaholster.com/product/front-pocket-holster/# The 9mm plus rounds make a 9mm a good option for CC.

Got the SW22 Victory in, really like the way it feels, enough snow has melted, may get out to the range this weekend with it and a few other toys.

iur

It looks and feels like a Ruger and a Browning had a baby 😀

Get some speed loaders, maybe? Or speed strips if those are your thing.

I know single action feels great, but if you want to use this gun for defense, you need to practice double action - you don't want to cock the hammer and then decock it - that could lead to an accidental discharge.

Ordered a few pairs of the speed strips. It's double action only so no worries there. It's mainly for my wife for the nightstand and eventual CCW when she gets around to taking the class, though she expressed interest in a super compact like a tiny Kahr. I need to rent one next time at the range so she can feel how snappy it is..

I played with a tiny 9mm Bersa once (friend's GF purse carry gun) - it had a really snappy kick to it...and I have large hands. I FAR prefer the feel of my forged Browning HiPower. It feels more like a 45 than a 9.

Depending on which revolver you have, you can usually get the DA trigger pull to be a little lighter. I think my N frame S&Ws are around 5-6lb trigger pull, but S&W themselves will do work to lower it to 3-3.5lb. I'm super accurate with my Model 57, but in SA mode. In DA mode, my accuracy suffers some.

About a week since anyone posted...?

Run out of guns and bullets...😵

I got another one I'm working on but ya gotta guess what it is...?:\

My wedding is in a week.. been waiting to make a new purchase until that's paid off.. after that, I will acquire a new rifle. 🙂

I picked up a cheap beater AK the other day, and shot about 100 rounds out of it today. I will post some pics when I get to taking some.

The manufacturer doesn't have the best reputetion, but I had a friend much more knowledgeable about AK's look it over before I bought it and it doesn't not appear to have any of the usual signs of QC issues they are reported to have. Riveting looks good, dust cover fits tight, several different makes of mags work good, and it went bang every time.

adairusmc... I figure if it goes bang...bang every time then its good to go...
Hummm...? What brand is it anyhow...? Just like to know... I have had a couple of them and a few SKS's but dont even own one as of now... Everything I have is an AR type weapon...

It is an I.O., a new one made in the US. They have had historically a bad rep for quality, which has supposedly gotten better since their move to Florida, but some buyers report they are still making mostly junk. I had a friend of mine look this one over, as it was a great price, and doesn't seem to show some of the typical problems associated with the I.O. Brand.

Two new suppressors got approved this weekend. Now I just have the longest wait of all: USPS delivery of the stamps to my dealer.
