I can see Freedom Group looking to snap up Colt. Sadly that might actually improve things. Apparently Colt's problems were mostly bad financial management, but even from a consumer perspective they haven't innovated. The last really "new" thing they released was the M4, they don't sell remakes of their historic classics aside from the peacemaker, their 1911s are overpiced, and they have no real entry into the concealed carry market and don't make any polymer framed pistols.

Sure they reintroduced the ancient Colt Mustang, but Sig beat them to that punch with the P238 years ago, and the P238 is IMO far superior to the mustang in terms of design.
 
My local ace hardware has one of their convertable .308 and 5.56 rifles, and while that is kind of a cool concept, that this is disgustingly ugly.
 
Picked this up used for fairly cheap the other day. Looking forward to shooting it, but it is so light I am sure it is going to be a handful.

Well, I finally got to shoot it, and it is definitely a handful. That light weight and .44 magnum loads are a lot to hold on to, and I could only get through about 12 rounds of .44 magnum.

.44 special ammo actually is quite nice. It is so light that I think packing it in the woods is going to be great.

yeah, that's what I read in another article. They're just an importer that decided to take on the name.

Even on my model 29 anything hotter than the SWC rounds meant for the range can be punishing.

What ammo were you shooting...? Some of the 44 mag ammo is a handful even with a heavy gun... But they do make some that is like shooting a 22...?
 
I've shot (and still have) .44 mag in Ruger Blackhawk, Ruger Super Blackhawk (3 screw) and S&W model 29.

I've always prefered the Super Blackhawk, but all just take getting used to.
The .44 Automag I had back in the '90s made all the above seem "comfortable".

I believe firmly in the old adage "you practice with what you carry".
Shooting WC's doesn't improve your accuracy with "full" loads and if you don't shoot full loads in a .44 mag, then you should have bought something cheaper, smaller and lighter.
 
Have a .357 Blackhawk myself also.

I've just always preferred .357 Magnum I guess as have a few around.

Like a few other pistols etc, have a .223 rifle and a .223 Thompson Contender

And a nice little S&W .38 Special Snub Nose.

Keeping ammo that different guns does make even using them now and then more convenient.

Nice that you can put .38 in .357 just to play with.

Have shot a few .44 magnums in my day, seems a bit over kill in a light gun just to me I guess.

I finally picked up the Tavor I've been wanting. Got it from Bud's Gun Shop and had it shipped to a local gun shop. It shoots really smooth though the trigger is on the heavy side (expected).

Now I'm trying to decide which optic to put on it. Leaning toward EOTech right now cause I really like the 512 I've owned for several years (sharp red dot when compared to something like a Fastfire III, they're not even close), but I'm also considering a 1-4x scope, something like the Burris 1-4x MTAC on my AR-15. Hmmm.
