YAGT: OMG I love guns

how do you like the trigger?

I haven't had a chance to take it to the range (that's this weekend, probably Saturday, after I go to the gun show that's also going on). Just dry-firing it (while I had the upper off, and then again when it was fully assembled), it seems much nicer than the single-stage trigger on my Stag model 3. I'll let you know after I put a couple (or so) magazines through it.

This is when most of us realize we don't need our guns 24/7.
You have guns?😱
Why not just get a tuckable holster?
That means buying bigger pants to fit it in the waistband so if I'm not carrying, the pants don't fit. And I don't leave my shirt untucked so a paddle or shoulder holster doesn't really work either. If I'm wearing jeans, this is about the best solution I've got without changing the way I dress. And I may because it would make carrying easier but not today.

At work, I'm in Dockers so the ultra-lite +desantis nemesis fit easily in the pocket.

And I'm still looking for a solution for shorts/t-shirt. I'm dressed like this most of the time.

Slides. Keep up, rude. Your kid would know.

But I like my skinny jeans.🙁

Under 1", nearly 7" from butt to barrel. The ultra-lite is almost 8". The pockets on my Levi's are small. I'll look around. New jeans with bigger pockets might be a better solution.

Now what am I going to do with the shirt? Thanks, Rude.:colbert:

😛

I'm about to jump the gun on this one:

Anything I should be weary about? It'll be my first build (well attempt that is 😀 )

Umm...pretty sure you mean pull the trigger on it😉

I built my first rifle with that exact kit in FDE, been an awesome rifle and there's nothing to be weary about...well, just be weary when you're putting it together, especially the front takedown detent installation, I fired the detent and spring across the room on my first attempt:\

What lower are you using? Not that it makes any difference, just curious...

why don't you just get a shirt that says you are carrying, if you are going to walk around in 5.11 tac pants...

I wear Khaki 5.11 Taclite Pros even when I'm not. Pocket layout can't be beat, and they just look like normal khaki slacks to someone who doesn't know.

And this is usually when all of us learn to assemble our lowers inside of big clear plastic bags or admit we like the detent plunger installation tool more than we like hunting for a tiny spring and a speck of a detent.

That I haven't decided on. Too many options for a novice to wade through 🙂

There's really not a huge difference between them, for the most part you can pick one with a rollmark that you like, AIM surplus still has some of the Spike's Tactical calico jack and Punisher lowers for $89 shipped if you're into that sort of thing, but a PSA lower is just as good, I have a Spike's Zombie lower and a PSA and while I haven't built the Spike's one yet aside from the markings I couldn't tell them apart

The punisher one isn't bad but that zombie one I like!

btw are there any specialized tools I should consider getting along with the my order? Anything to make the process easier is a bonus for me especially since I might be building a few more for friends in the future.
