He let his state growers license lapse. The feds aren't involved. He just didn't keep his paperwork up to date at a state level.

Pretty ridiculous that this would be treated as someone defending himself otherwise.

True Federalism was dealt a mortal blow in 1865 and was put out of its misery under FDR. Federal law matters to state level officials even if it technically doesnt.

Since he let his license expire, the amount found is a felony. Had he kept the license up to date, the feds wouldn't be involved and it would be a SYG case. Obviously the feds need to take MJ off the controlled substance schedule and let it go. Stubbornness is their thing tho.

This happened last Dec and now the woman, Miya Ponsetto, has been charged with a felony hate crime. A grand jury indicted her on charges including unlawful imprisonment, as a hate crime, endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated harassment.

It remains to be seen whether much will actually happen here, but hopefully at the very least she will be extremely inconvenienced and out a lot in lawyer's fees. Probably it will all just get pled down to take a class and don't do it again.
