So did it just die or what? I haven't been stranded in 5 years/80k -- its just been routine maintenance that cost a lot for me. Every time you go in you need brakes, bushings, engine mounts etc.
Don't forget this. I actually had a shitfaced grin the whole time I was waiting for the tow as this car is turning out to be everything it was promised to be.

Makes me want to go outside and stroke my Miata... if you know what I mean.
This might explain how you got it so cheaply
Mini Cooper = land boat, aka break out another thousand.
So what's the failure? I'm here for the entertainment!
I'd ask where you're taking it but I know nothing about Bimmer shops so it'd be kinda pointless
This is why I can't make a Miata work.(300+ pounds of dog food)

A Miata could fit one or two of those at a time, requiring multiple trips to carry the same load. On the other hand, you could actually make multiple trips with a Miata without it breaking down.
Or a trailer. That would be mildly amusing.
I wish i got a pic of the miata i saw pulling a flatdeck with 2 dirtbikes and a quad on it. I spit my water all over my windshield when i saw that.
