The accord should be fine in terms of theft unless you go and get expensive rims a 10 foot spoiler, etc. The integra shouldn't be that bad if you get a 4 cylinder, my 16 year old friend has a 93 or 94 integra 4 cylinder and his rates aren't too bad, I don't remember how much exactly.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned a Camry or Corolla, two of the most reliable cars ever made. The Camry may be high for insurance, but it depends on the area of the country (they're actually stolen somewhat frequently). They are both bulletproof in almost all aspects and hold their value well. My girlfriend picked up a base 94 Corolla in July of 02 for less than $4k. Her mom picked up a 96 Camry earlier this month for $5k, both with about 80k on the clock.

Both commonly come with autos, so this shouldn't be a problem. The Corolla is slightly on the noisy side, but that may be its only fault.

You should be able to get a pretty nice mid 90s Camry in your price range. I really like my 92. I know the entire history on the car and that history is pretty boring, as in "oil change, oil change, oil change...". The best part is most people have the exact same experience that I have had with mine. My 92 is easily more reliable than my g/f's 02 Jetta or her old 98 Cavalier (I cringe to compare the Camry and the Cavalier).

Aren't all the mid 90's integras 4 cylinders? They just put out differant power. 142, 170ish and 190ish if I remember correctly. I wouldn't mind having a GSR but that only comes with a manual(which i could get over)but it also has more HP which would make it mor efun to drive, but probablly more expensive to insure. As far as I know though the integra special edition is basically a GSR with an optional automatic and the 142HP engine.

bah, I have a 1991 Cavalier :) Works great :)

Except the water leaking through some crappy seals, and the muffler falling off.

Budget kinda depends on how long I want to finance for and what the insurance will cost. I already called the insuance company about adding a '97 Nissan 200SX SE-R with full coverage to my policy and he said that would cause it to increase about 45 bucks a month. I think total insurance plus car payment needs to be around or under 200.00 dollars. SO I fgure if I finance for 3 years I think 5500 would be my max budget, but if I extend financing to 4 years I can go up to 6500. Maybe 7000.00 max if I can come up with some more down payment money.

Not sure how relevant or accurate the info is but consumerguide gives the accord a 1 in the insurance column. A 1 is a low score which means insurance is high. The maxima got a 3, the integra and something else I was considering(can't remember what it was) got 2's.

Why was I thinking the maxima was a full size car? Its not it's midsize, right? If so that should put a mid 90's maxima in line size wise with my 89 Olds Cutlass Ciera. I could handle that.

Accord auto tranny's are a little weak. If you get an Accord, I recomend a stick.

Great cars though.

96+ civic for 5,000.00???? Yeah I guess I did find a few of those, mainly with well over 100,000K, but some under that mark. AT that price point though I think I would prefer the maxima, I just wish I had a little more to make sure I can get all the options I want. I think maybe I will hold of moving for a few months to get a little extra cash.

If you want good reliable A-B transportation, get a Camry or Corolla.

Did you put 84K on that car or is that the total miles on it? I wasn't sure by the way you said it. I would consider that car, but its at the middle to bottom part of my list. The gas mileage is pretty dang good on it, but I'm not sure I like that color blue. It could be the light shining on it though cause the back looks nice. Whats up with those rims, they seem dark? Is it the lighting or are they dirty, they don't look dirty. Or are they supposed to look like that? Decent pric eon it though, so i will keep it in mind. Thanks

They're supposed to be that color - they're gunmetal and stock nissan rims :) They were limited edition wheels.
