YACT: My cat keeps bitting my face

Now my new kitten (4 months old) really doesn't bite that much. But for some reason he always does in the morning. He comes in at about 6am (I'm still sleeping) and climbs up onto my chest and starts rubbing his head against may face (mostly my chin) then he starts biting it. It's not a hard bite or anything and he's purring very loudly when he does it. I start petting him and he's cool for a second then he comes up to my face again. Even if I burry my head under the covers he tunnels in and gets me.

Any idea WTF is going on?

haha, sounds like a new kitten. my cat attacked my feet from the floor at the foot of my bed every morning for like 3 months. it was a helluva alarm clock.

He's trying to awake you up and prepare his breakfast or clean his litter.

When I was a teenager, we had a cat that would nip at your ears to wake you up to feed him. Fortunately I only had to deal with it when my parents were gone.
The cats I have now just stand by their food or water and cry at me.

It could be a food thing but he always has dry food. It's pretty much if I make a noise in the early am he's on me right away. And if it was a food think I think he'd meow or something. He just is purring at a huge volume and molesting my face.

That's nice, I'm going to send that to my g/f. The cat was her idea (took me a year of asking for me to give it) and of course it bonded with me.

I have a cat that will only bite my wifes face. If she is siting on the sofa he will casually jump in her lap and look lovingly up at her, with his eyes half lidded and proceed to bite her eyebrow or nose, whichever he can reach. I can walk over to him and put my face right up to him and he just rubs on my face. Such is the life of four legged demons.

I used to have 6 of teh kittahs, but as they pass on I am not replacing them. Too painful.

I've actually done that. He really was freaking out so I bit him on the back of the neck and pinned him to the ground. It actually seemed to work.

As to just getting up to feed him, well I'd rather not get him into that habit. I mean I've never done it before so why would he keep trying?

I had a kitten that did that too. The moment sunlight started creeping through the curtains, he'd come and wake me up. He simply wouldn't take no for an answer so I would just freak him out by tossing him up in the air a few times (like a ball) and catching him.

Eventually, he started liking that and it failed to work as a deterrent.

I did that to one of our cats as well. She stopped biting :p
