I had a 97 Dodge Neon, it was a very quick car with the 5 speed. I liked it a lot, had the head gasket replaced, other than that, it was a decent car for a college student.

1996 Dodge Neon Highline 0-60 9.1 1/4 mile: 16.8
The manual transmission gives the illusion of quickness.
It's "quick" when compared with its class and price range.
The problem is that it's class and price range aren't associated with "quick".

An evo is slow if you compare it to a bugatti. Its a completely relative term, and coming here and berating it just make the person doing it seem like a douchebag. Kind of like the douches who see normal girls and call them fat cause theyre comparing them to the supermodels we gawk at on the net. Compared to the cars that most normal college students have, its not slow, and certainly faster than a corolla or civic.

So you bought a Neon then post about it here...
Then you decide to sell it simply because of what a few people say about Neons?
C'mon, its not that bad man... for 5k w/ that mileage you should just ride it til it dies at around 100k.

You can drop 5K on a car, but can't move out of your parents house. I'm guessing your father bought that for you.
Its a business decision. I buy the car, I make money. I move out, I don't have money to buy the car.
Dad didn't buy ******. I used the suburban money.
Who paid for the suburban?

I'm sorry.
My friend has a neon. It's a pile of garbage.
So, you have thousands in cash to buy vehicles but you don't have money to live on your own? You buy and sell cars and make thousands of dollars (or your family does). You made $15K on selling a suburban (or more likely your father did), but you can't afford to move out?Originally posted by: PAB

You claim to be a dealers rep, or an independent wholesaler, or just someone who goes to auctions and buys cars. Who knows, the story never stays consistant.
It's all shens and you're just living vicariously through your father and his business.
A word of advice, lose the cowboy hat.
An old saying? So you've been in the business for what, 20 of your 21 years on earth?Originally posted by: PAB

You got the first part right.
See, theres an old saying we have in the business.
You can have health or wealth - pick ONE.
The car thing is my thing. My family/father has nothing to do with me flipping cars.

So I take it that the slick used car salesmen you work for told you that very insightful little quip. Does he still live at home and complain about his parents too? Mabey living at home while flipping cars is the life of a used car salesman? I don't know, you tell me, you're the rootin' tootin' used car cowboy!
I've know some bvllshit artists in my day, but you're definitely top notch. That is why you fit so perfectly as a used car salesman!

He may have been talking about the Neon R/T, which had a DOHC 4 cylinder and was quite quick in its class. They would run in the high 15's easily.
No, it's not hard to believe you made 15K in cash, it is hard to believe your logic. Except for a few collectable cars out there, cars are not a good investment.Originally posted by: PAB

Your money would be better invested in an appreciating monetary vehicle. Hell, go buy a house. Go buy stocks.
Or you can go buy a neon, wreck it and continue to live with your parents while taking pictures of fat stacks of money and guns with disposable kodak cameras.
Trent McSlick is going to send some essays after you for wrecking that new car you got at the auction for him. Better watch your kneecaps!
