I do. Pushing the engine past spec. Higher shift points than stock. More lift on the rocker arms, lower thermostat, etc etcwho the heck changes every 1K-2K miles?
Unless of course you are doing more than just driving to work/soccer practice/grocery store/mall in which case the small amount of money is worth protecting your engine. Good oil perserves gaskets. If you drive your car hard often then it is worth the $25 ($50 for oil and labor if you dont do it yourself) worth of synthetic oil to protect your car.Don't spend more money on expensive oil
