This kid (17) is a HUGE showoff, does not know ANYTHING about bikes except that they are fast, did not take a class or does not have any motorcycle license or insurance. Now he's racing around in a t shirt and pants and a helmet (at least he got one thing right), but he will probably lose the helmet in a few weeks. I give him 1 month tops before he gets killed or at least SERIOUSLY injured.

Oh, and the day he asked for the bike, his dad went to the Honda dealership and bought him a brand new one. This goes beyond spoiling, and is irresponsible parenting.

EDIT: The bike is DAMN SEXY, but he's still going to die anyways.

Did he get the 07? Those are sexy. Hopefully he leaves some parts in tact so the rest of us have something to salvage or use for parts.

Or I guess if I want to be more sensitive, he just lowsides it with only fairing damage, gets scared and sells it off for cheap. Otherwise, I don't really care what happens to those types of riders except that they give us a bad name, and sometimes I get harrassed because of it.

EDIT: Oh, hopefully he doesn't hurt anyone else. Don't care about him, but don't take others. Mandatory pictures of my bike and the crash

He said he dropped it so many times it's starting to get damaged/scratched/scuffed. He wants to get "sliders" so the bike won't get damaged when he falls? Anyways, if he sucks that much at riding, then I don't think it's the bike you should be worried about...

And yes, it's the 07. The only bike I think is sexier is the Yamaha R6's (if you're staying in the 600CC class).

Those are sexy. Don't seeing buying a bike that costs as much as my car though.

I'd get a triumph 675 before I get a duc.

The sliders will help, but they're called "frame" sliders because they're mainly to protect the frame, not the plastics.

I never liked the R6 look and I'm really not worried that much about the squids. :p

The Triumph 675's are damn sexy, also. One member forum recently got one and linked pics to his.

No license or insurance? Does his father realize that his son can cost him everything he owns if he gets into an accident?

His father is, for lack of a better description, an uneducated villager who came here from Turkey and got lucky with his business. Cheating on taxes helped with that, eh?

Yeah, I would never even want a bike, I like my BIG ASS AMERICAN TRUCK @ 10MPG that way I won't even feel this loser when he loses control and knocks into my Suburban.

Yeah, that's why I would never buy a bike in Los Angeles. Idiots in their SUV's talking on their cellphone or texting while they drive (usually women) will change lanes into you and crush you.

Sigh. Oh well....he will learn that bikes aren't for him....at least hopefully he will survive to have that chance.

BTW, a squid is the person you described to a T--usually a young male on a sportbike who rides with very little or no gear, doesn't know how to ride but just twists the throttle on straightaways.

Can I have the address and names of the parents to write a letter predicting their sons death due to their own ignorance? Seriosuly, PM me and I'll write and send the letter. Even sign my name and everything. I just want them to have it as a constant reminder when they loose their most cherrished belonging.

Does the father not like the son? And does he perhaps have a large life insurance policy on him?

I know where he lives, but I don't talk to him so I don't know the address. One of my friends live right next to him. I'll see if I can get an address.

I think the term was taken from the surfers. It basically applies to anyone who goes out and buys expensive equipment without knowledge/ability/research and basically uses it to pose and fail to fit in.

Bikes though tend to have so many that they find each other and think they're all part of a biker gang.

It's not that he's spoiled, it's that the dad is a really bad parent. Who would buy their kid something like that when he knows he streetraces very often? He got caught racing with his Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG his dad bought him.
