if you watched the TV show, he came close to getting shot when he visited a gun show in alabama as his 'Brüno' character

that was one of my favorite episodes of all time! i loved that guy's reaction

He's an ass.

Not to mention every time I hear his name I imagine him in a sparkly white outfit with ice skates and el oh el out loud.

I hope the guy that decked him was a Jew from kazakhstan.

Do you have an inferiority complex?

You do understand that Sasha Baron Cohen is totally jewish, right?

I gotta wonder if one of the people on his show or the movie has a hit out for him. He has an Andy Kaufman-esque devotion to his characters.

Wow, so much hatin'. I'm not surpried he got whacked, just part of the risk that goes with the job, but to celebrate it is rather over the top.

Yes I do. So what?
Is he from Kazakhstan?
He insulted alot of those people and they didn't take it lightly.
Why did you sieze only the Jewish part of my comment?
Is it because you know I'm Jewish?
The movie honestly did not offend me.
I realize what he's doing.
But many people were offended (wrongly, IMO).

Well, he does this to a lot of people. This is part of the show, to act randomly and pretend to be a Kazakhstani with no cultural understandings of America. This is in the movie title. I believe that this carries some risk.

I find Sascha Baron Cohen and his characters, Borat and Ali G., to be hilarious and just great in a lot of ways. Too bad this has happened, but he should know the risk of him acting that way towards strangers.

Does he offend me? No.

Do I think that his show and his movie are no better than racist jokes? Yes.

His Borat character might be funny if he claimed a fictional country as a home; calling himself Kazakh takes out any humor IMO. Also, the stories of exploitation that are coming to light around the people he features in his sketches and in the movie are disturbing.

It's a sad commentary on humanity that we view these sorts of things as funny. Sadder that it's not anything new.
