Well good concept but if it's really that fragile, ugh. The write-up guesses that it wasn't even a screen landing yet both the ceramic body and screen cracked.
Glass breaks, sky is blue, water is squishy... whats new? You do realize that every phone has glass that comes to the edge right? Just because the lcd now goes to the edge all the way around doesn't mean its any weaker, the lcd is simply glued to the glass, doesn't matter if its 5mm from the edge or 1mm from the edge. If the metal frame inside is weak and it deforms when dropped the glass will break.

Even from a design standpoint, I'm more interested in what Sharp is doing. The Mix is Xiaomi's take on bezel-less, but they aren't the first or only approach.
I have a feeling apple will use this in their next iphone, sharp will be providing them with oleds next year.

Not in the 7S at least, but definately they will use it on the 8 when Xiaomi mastered the bezel-less smartphone resistance.

There won't be a 7S, at least we are pretty sure of that (admittedly based on rumors, but they are logical). Next year should be the 8.

If that happen, the natural order of Apple phones would be broken 😱!

It already has. The 7 would normally be a new design, but it basically is just a 6s...s. Supposedly this is because they're going to do something grand for the tenth anniversary iPhone.

When you think about it, over the last 10 years apple only had 3 iphone designs, iphone 2g/3g/3gs, iphone 4/4s/5/5s, iphone 6/6s/7. Kinda sad that a company that talks so much about design only made 3 designs of the iphone.

No 5c?

And to be fair, other companies only make more designs because they don't have as many hits. If you can refine a design rather than redesign every year, you'll choose to do that until consumers demand difference.

It has nothing to do with hits. Admittedly, the iPhone design is boring and stale for the past decade and Apple can afford to ride the same horse it's because they command the smartphone market ever since it came out and maintain a tight grip on their closed ecosystem. There are those people who simply want something that works, regardless of aesthetics and that's what Apple delivered. This is the same reason as to why toyota sold over 40 million Corollas worldwide since its inception...and it's not because it's pretty.
