With Shadows on at 12x9 no SS, 4x AA 16x AF, I get:

27 min

However I would expect more than a 8800GTX than just 79FPS at 16x10 4x AA 16x

Agreed it is reasonably faster but the difference is not night and day, it is not the same difference at most as that of a 7800GT to 1900XTX.

I get 55fps avg @ 1680x1050 4xAA/16xHQAF all settings maxed, soft shadows off.

So I think 79 fps at those settings is pretty damn effin good.

EDIT: 69% increase over an overclocked X1900XTX is nothing to scoff at.

I'm trying to decide between 1 GTX or 2 GTS in SLi myself. I reckon GTS SLi is how I'll end up going though.

Can you put in a good word and have Nvidia send me one to test out?

I was thinking the same thing but I'd rather not have to deal with SLI issues. I'm sure 2x8800GTS will be faster than one GTX though, which is nice.

How many times do I need to say it on these forums? I have no connection whatsoever with nvidia and can't request anything from them that you yourself couldn't.

As for concerns about SLi issues, I have to say that so far, I've loved the experience and have yet to experience anything that would put me off of SLi.

It takes time to mature.

I agree and hope you guys all buy one, work out the bugs and when its working right I can get one at 2/3 price.

akshaytthe 7950GT performs almost the same as my Voltmodded 7900GT@GTX speeds, and I can savely say the 8800GTS kills any ATi available today.

FEAR might be CPU limited. Just have a look at Cell Factor and Call of Juarez numbers, that are the most GPU hungry, the difference is huge.

Also drivers are very inmature, and taking into account it is such a new architecture in every way, improovements will come for sure.

Will do a review as soon as I get more mature drivers, that way I'll have the chance to play with every setting and test new filtering features.

Thanks for the discussion not being a flamewar guys, that's very nice nowadays

well they only tested with an athlon x2 4400 @ fx60 speeds which from the other benchmarks is no where near fast enough to max out this card. most of the other benchmarks say theres a clear advantage witha core 2 duo or even quadro.

I'm going Conroe (6600) way next week, and will have it for the review ;)

I have just tried leaked 96.84 drivers and they are even worse than those I used in the preview and with no control panel also. Call of Juarez has big lighting problems with this set.

So when does the NDA expire on these cards? I am looking forward to some review reading this afternoon.
