Looks good McArra. From the looks of it, the air is drawn in where the fan is located and then expelled through those vents in the top of the heatsink and maybe out the back. Is that correct? Does most of the air get expelled out the top of the hsf or the back?

Most of the heat goes out of the case, which is great :D

I don't know what those little vents are for, but almost non of the heats goes through there ;)

I'm here for your questions ;)

Muchas gracias para su revision de esta tarjeta de video. Pero 8800GTS no es mucho mas rapido que X1950XT.

Here 8800GTS squashes literally to the previous generation duplicating comfortably the yield of 7950GT. This game is juiceable for the first time to similar resolution with one more a fluidity than acceptable for the very surprising sort

Juiceable. Gotta love those auto-translators.

In 3dMark I did and as you can see with 8xAA it performs as good/better (1680/1280) as a 7900GT, but since Control Panel was broken I couldn't force it for the other titles :(
Farcry needs a patch for sure, since AA in game+HDR caused image corruption.

It's faster for sure, I havem't got the X1950XT but you will see it soon in reviews.

Bear in mind that the driver is not very good and that a lot of optimization is on the way ;)

EDIT: De nada :p

So with Oblivion , Far Cry, and Cell Factor the driver was unable to force AA on while the games had HDR enabled?

I guess nVidia will release another emergency driver tomorrow...

So there was absolutely no Control Panel? Because I swore I've seen pictures of other 8800GTX owners changing settings from within their driver CP's.

I had a balnk page as control panel, very frustrating.

I didn't OC at all, since there was no control panel and other programs I have wouldn't let me. Will do it for the review though ;)

Would you share me yours? :p

Also, it is a GTS, the new GT, so it is not that bad. And from 7950GT to 7900GTX there's not a huge difference.

Can game devs please start making games again that don't take $1300 worth of next-gen GPUs and PSUs to run at max while getting 60 fps?

Please?

Thanks.

Also I just noticed that the GTS only gets 6 fps more than my X1900XTX @ 690/800 at the same resolution and settings.

EDIT: DOh! 6 more fps in FEAR.

you are asking for a lot. Valve & their source engine ran very nice, even with mid level cards, So I guess if you dont mind the 6 year delay for the game dev. to make the best possible engine, yes, they can meet your request.

True, but I bet the 8800GTS's frames will continue to hold high as the AA is increased whereas the X1900XTX will take a good hit going from 4x to 6x. I'm interested into seeing what the GTS's performance is with SSAA. I guess we'll find out when nVidia gives him a working driver control panel.
