Has anyone got hold of one of these yet. They seem to be the cheapest way into Quad core. If anyone has one how well does it overclock?

Not yet, but this is going to be my next purchase to go along with my Asus Commando. This Asus board I am currently using is the best platform for OCing these quad cores on, so I hope to see decent results.

Just a FYI to anyone else interested in these chips, here is a list of all the socket 775 quad cores that will work with any Conroe ready board:

Intel Core 2 Quadro Extreme Edition QX6700 ? 2.66Ghz, 1066FSB, 8MB L2
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 ? 2.4Ghz, 1066FSB, 8MB L2
Intel Xeon 3220 - 2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB L2
Intel Xeon 3210 - 2.13GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB L2

With regards to overclocking these chips (Xeon 3210 ES)

That's a sweet overclock in that link, lets hope the retails match the ES variants.

Looks like the ES chips are a little hit and miss. I had an ES chip that only did 2.6GHz. I though it was the board I was using but the guy I sold it too had the same issues.

only board that overclocks Quadcore for anything is p5b. I have tested one got around 3.3 ghz on stock vcore.

Fixed.

The Bad Axe 2 is good to about 390-400MHz so it does pretty well too with a x9 or x10 multiplier. I'm sure there are a couple other boards out there that will do well also.

Guys regarding the chipset we have to remember its quite an old design, remembering that i actually think it does an awesome job...for me better than i680 Guys regarding the chipset we have to remember its quite an old design, remembering that i actually think it does an awesome job...for me better than i680

Like all high end boards there will always be overclocking issues, issues at stock speeds are always a lot less but we all tend to forget this as we all overclock.

I for one WOULD buy the iCFX, I don't run superpi for a living and as such would probably never see it being a little slower than a 975. Games do pretty well though and it overclocks Kents real well due to in bios GTL ref voltage tweaking...so for me it is actually a worthy buy.
