That's your world. Meanwhile, in mine...

Microsoft has Halo, Gears, Forza, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Titanfall, Powerstar Golf and maybe Zoo Tycoon (at the right price), friends and relatives to play with on LIVE

Sony has: MLB 14: The Show, and maybe The Order: 1886

Naughty Dog's stuff interests me 0%. I don't care about the types of games they produce, so The Last of Us does not impress me, nor do I care about Uncharted (which would mean jumping into a series in the FOURTH installment).

Say all you want that Sony has better exclusives, but that's your opinion. To me, they offer baseball and a bunch of stuff I don't have any desire to play.

Lol...yeah...writing off probably the best developer of the last generation is always good.

BTW: uncharted isn't all that different in gameplay mechanics to gears of war which you seem to like. Both are third person action game/shooters. Uncharted just happens to have a few small puzzle or platform sections. They are closer than it may seem on the surface in their game play. Both have cover mechanics too.

Loved Uncharted. Hated hated hated Gears of War. Gears of War is like a steroid sandwich of a game. Horrible.

Uncharted had Assassin's creed-like movement with counter-strike like guns. I loved that game.

It flows a heck of alot better than assassins creed though. They got the controls down pretty well in uncharted by comparison.

I thought gears was very claustrophobic. Not enough open spaces. That's something I really like about halo, more open environments. I don't know if they have larger environments in the later games, only really played the very first game when it released. Not really a fan, especially not the roided out characters.

Well, why get the xbox for $400 when the PS4 for $400 is more powerful and a better value? And overall has better exclusives, judging by the PS3's exclusives vs xbox.

It's a no brainer for me. I won't buy sony because of their past security weaknesses, their lack of integrity (root kits, the linux ps3 fiasco, how they responded to their security issues, etc). So my choice is nintendo or microsoft. I wasn't going to buy this generation simply because I am not a fan of always on recording equipment in my living room.

Now that equipment is optional so I'm interested again.

since you seem to be uninformed, that was never an issue with the xbox1 anyways.

Blame the media. After 100000000000000000000 articles about the kinect in the xb1 always listening I didn't care to keep checking to see if that was the case on release date.

But the fact still stands that I don't want a recording device in my living room. I don't even want to talk to my entertainment system.

"Xbox off/On, etc" is just not interesting to me in the least and imho a potential privacy issue.

yeah fair enough everyone has their own opinion, but i'm just letting you know that the kinect is not an "always on recording device" as you thought.

It's always listening (otherwise you can't turn it on by saying "Xbox on").

Whether it's always recording or not is a matter of some debate, but it seems almost certain that it has an NSA backdoor built in just like Skype.

it's only "always listening" if you have your console in standby with the kinect plugged in. neither of which you need to do in order to use the console.

I don't like that the xbox one is now just a weaker system for the same price. If the deal was that the Xbox one was a weaker system, but also included the kinect to make up for that at the same price, I would be ok with it. Right now the trade-offs aren't lining up though. The perception that you're getting something to make up for the xbox's weaknesses has to be there for it to really succeed.

I'm saying this having purchased an xbox one just a week ago. That was purely because of certain titles I expect to be exclusive to it, so I guess the strength of it's IP counts for something too. I think all the people on the fence would go PS4 as things stand though.

Sorry, their games didn't grab my attention. There's just nothing I want from them. You're giving them the title of best developer off of 2 IPs that don't interest me, then ragging on me for not liking the developer...the games just didn't interest me.

Uncharted will DEFINITELY not interest me when 75% of the story is on another console, regardless of the game's quality. In that same vein, I'd LOVE to get KH3 on the One, but I've missed almost the whole story because they took it across so many consoles I didn't own. As much as I want to play it, I'd have no idea what was going on, so I am going to pass on it, unless I get a great deal on a PS3 and 3DS, or they give us a KH collection on the One.

Do you know anything about Japanese business? Do you know anyone who used Linux on PS3 for anything other than pirating games?

Research these two things and be an informed consumer.

In short. Companies don't admit fault in Japan, nearly ever. Look at Toyota. Look at Nintendo's recent failures. It goes all the way back to the days of the shoguns and feudal lords. They want to save face by never admitting wrongdoing or a mistake. Especially to their competitors. It is considered a severe dishonor to stand up and bow to your customers and say "We messed up. We are sorry!" It's just their way. They are extremely hierarchical and you have to go up the chain of command to do anything and that takes way too long. Sony has learned from that and has allowed their department heads (especially in the Playstation brand) to make decisions directly as they see fit without going up the chain. They (the corporate execs) are taking a very hands off approach to the PS4 thus far and it has been for the better.

Sorry, their games didn't grab my attention. There's just nothing I want from them. You're giving them the title of best developer off of 2 IPs that don't interest me, then ragging on me for not liking the developer...the games just didn't interest me.

Each Uncharted game is independent of the other. None of them link together in the story. Only certain main characters are reoccurring.

Nothing about japanese buisness, but the way they handled their data breach, their 'repayment' to us effected users was a sham.

I used linux on the ps3. I was left with "stop playing online games" or "still be able to play with linux on my ps3"

That was enough for me. I got screwed with sony root kits on my computer, I got screwed with how sony treated my persona info/cc info. I got screwed on the features I paid for on my ps3, and I got screwed with how difficult it was to get them to delete/cancel my psn account.

Every time I've given sony my money, I've been screwed. I will never ever ever buy a sony product willingly and knowningly.

Xbox Live has been hacked, more than once too.

No online infrastructure is totally secure or immune to having compromised accounts. Also, since we are on the subject. Point me to where anyone has proved that the PSN breach has cost them money. I've looked before, came up empty. Lots of "but...people had their info exposed" yet no proof that it caused financial harm to any individual user. Sony claims it cost them $170 million but I can't find one person who can prove they lost money that can be traced back directly to PSN.

Also, maybe read the TOS next time. Sony never said you get certain features guaranteed forever. They are free to adjust the software and firmware as they see fit and you agree to this when you use the console. It states this pretty clearly that they retain all rights to the software and you are not allowed to modify it for your own uses and that they can update it at any time to improve the security of their intellectual property.

Your lack of understanding isn't Sony's fault in the least. I'll continue to enjoy both consoles while you whine online about losing Linux on the PS3 about 4 years ago now and an unfounded fear of Microsoft caring enough about your habits to use the kinect to spy on you when they have removed it from being required and now won't even pack it in every box.

Lil Frier, I am with you on Uncharted. I tried on several occasions to play all three of them, and thought they weren't that great. The floaty controls were actually horrible for me, and that ended up killing any enjoyment I got. When you add in the stupid chase scenes where the camera angles would screw you over, it was just too irritating to deal with.

I would agree with this, but only because aiming down the sites, the character would take 2/5 to 1/2 of your screen. Often I'd be getting shot from a direction not knowing because my Gear would completely block that side of the view.

At least Nathan was a stick compared to YeahDudeMarcus.

my xbox one at $500, my killer instinct te2 at $200, and my killer instinct pin ultimate edition at $60 has been a better value to me than the ps4 + knack + ps+ for a year at $0.

Nothing about what you just said was a value. Being obsessive compulsive doesn't make anything a value, it just skews your vision. :)

I'm right there with you, however for the people saying they should be compared, they are dead wrong. Gears was a shooter first and foremost, and the point of the game was taking your team from point A to point B, all while facing monsters and trying to save the world. Uncharted was more about exploration. If anything, compare Uncharted with Tomb Raider, that makes a little more sense.

Essentially, you are saying "shutup, give them your money, be happy they give you anything in return".

I get it.

I bought a product because of advertised features. In some instances (Sony music CDs in 2005) I was given way more than I wanted (A nice rootkit). In others, the features I bought the product for were removed. Can sony remove what they want and adjust their EULA to make it 'ok'? Yes, but I also have the right to be upset that I'm losing something I enjoyed and prevent that from happening in the future. How do I know sony won't take away the ability of the PS4 to watch netflix? Or remove it's ability to play games from disks? I mean I can't bitch if they do right? It would be my fault for not reading that agreement that said they can do anything they want. Hell, that agreement probably says I can't even sue them if the ps4 has sex with my dog.

I completely understand the situation, I'm not happy with it. So I keep my money. But it's a good troll your working on, so keep it up.

Except there is more action than exploring.

In terms of story though you are correct. Gears is supposed to be a point a to point b shooter.

the only thing that gears of war and uncharted have in common to me is that they are both 3rd person. that's about as far as the similarities i see between the two.

I'm sure your enjoyment was not at all affected by the exclusivity of the games. You do realize how well they were rated and sold and when has floaty controls ever been a complaint about the Uncharted franchise? I think you try to hard to dislike everything Sony and too hard to love everything MS.

There's people on here that say Last of Us sucked too. I just don't believe they are serious on that one.
