So now it's just a weaker Playstation for the same price. Nintendo And M$ really blew it this gen on the gimmicks. If they wanted to sell us on them, they should have done something compelling with them.

Now Banjo Kazooie and Conker @ E3 and they can catch up with PS4.
Without Kinect they need exclusives. Can't compare resolution or fps when you can't get the game elsewhere.
Truth. Exclusives or death. Multiplats for the huge games are just wins for PS4.

How is the state of DLNA support on the XBox One? Maybe that's a selling point?
Halo 2 remake should be this fall though. There really would be no excuse for it not to make it out the door. Staggering it would help a lot, as releasing both H2HD and H5 same year would be a mistake (split MP bases, etc).
Though it remains to be seen whether Halo still has the same impact it once had. I am thinking one of their new IPs will take off, and Halo is sort of played out at this point (like God of War, Gears, etc).
That's nearly impossible to do, because people have different preferences. For example, Sony can't sell me on the PS4 because I don't care about their exclusives, except for The Show.
Meanwhile, you say Microsoft needs must-have stuff, and I'm already looking at a decent bit of it, from my point of view. Sunset Overdrive looks cool. I'll always buy into Halo, and possibly Gears (though I skipped the last one). Quantum Break looks nice. They've also got Titanfall and Forza right now, plus Fable in the future, Project Spark in beta, and whatever else they haven't announced. I think Microsoft's done a fine job in the first-year exclusive department (though Halo sounds like it'll leak into 2015 and miss that first-year window).

i gotta eat crow because i definitely did not think this would be happening this soon, if at all. all i gotta say though is i gotta give ms some props for listening to the people with many of their decisions they've changed. i wonder if this means i can trade in my kinect somewhere and it will actually have some kind of value now.
When you remove the games with PC ports, that list continues to shrink. Which is something that doesn't happen to Sony exclusives as often as it does MSFT ones.
Me too, I thought there was no way within the first year something like this was happening. The top brass must have gotten scared about the two million lead the PS4 has so they did this.
