I can tell it's a little faster loading certain things I use a lot, but I never really measured game load times so I can't give numbers. I can only say it feels faster, whether it's placebo or not is another matter.

Thanks for the info. I ended up picking one up tonight. I'll see if I notice an improvement over my "Day One" version. At the least I'll double my drive space which will be nice as I always seem to be uninstalling games to make room (not sure that'll stop but at least it won't be as constant). I ended up getting it at Gamestop as they threw in a couple of games with it including the new Call of Duty that came out tonight, which I wasn't aware was even coming out. One way I know this forum isn't what it used to be, a game with a line like CoD comes out and there isn't a thread on it. Kinda sad...

I'll most likely sell of the Elite Controller I picked up last week to recoup some of the costs.

I said earlier in this thread that I wasn't going to get the Elite controller but ended up with one today anyway. Gamestop has the deal this weekend where you get $250 for your XboxOne/PS4 if you put it towards a new Xbox One, plus you get a free controller and any game on top of that, so I picked up the Elite bundle. I figured $250 to get the Elite controller, bigger internal hard drive, free game and a fresh warranty was worth it.

Haven't used the controller yet, still re-downloading games at the moment, but it feels solid. I'm really surprised at how easy the dpad and stick comes off, I'll assume they stay put during game action. When Halo 5 finishes downloading, I'm going to give the paddles and the tall stick (on the right only) a try.

I did the same thing. I traded my 500-GB console to GameStop, but I bought games from GS and turned that into $315 in credit at Best Buy. I then traded in a couple of my own games, ending up with $400 in credit at BB. I got the Halo 5 console, Black Ops 3 (free with console), a $50 BB gift card (free with console), an extra Locke controller for my brother-in-law ($30 with console purchase), and a $25 REQ pack (free with Locke controller purchase) for $575 or so. After my trades, I paid $173 out of pocket for it all (plus $30 I had to spend at GameStop).

So basically, an Elite controller, regular controller and game are about $250 if you buy them individually. Add in the $250 credit for trading in an existing XB1 and basically the Elite bundle is a wash?

What did you bring into the store when you traded it in? Is the console, controller and power cable/brick all you need or do they want the Kinect and box as well?

No box needed, no Kinect (I think you get, like, $20 for it). If your gloss part is heavily scratched, they MIGHT hit you with a refurb fee, same if your controller's got any issues.

All of my stuff is pristine. Still has the warning label sticker on the front actually :) Might have to do this tomorrow as I really want the Elite controller.

No Kinect but you DO have to bring an HDMI cable. I threw in the crappy headset it comes with, too, but it's not required. So make sure you have:

- Console
- Power brick/cables
- HDMI cable
- working controller

That's it.

Perfect. Will head on over to the local store when they open.

Bumping an old thread but they said the Elite Controller will be in limited supply until March 2016.

Glad I got mine at Best Buy, with a free copy of Halo 5 that I was able to return for $65 on an old receipt.

I've been back to the M$ retail store twice since I got the Elite bundle and they had plenty of stock on the Elite controller. This was the Perimeter Mall store in Atlanta.

Define plenty and I do believe their own retail stores will have it before Best Buy and other B&M stores do.

I think it is a scheduled thing. I didn't hear anyone saying MS retail stores had them back, but Best Buy got them in online and in-store the week of Christmas, and in large quantities, it seemed. That is how I got mine, and they were giving away Halo 5 with it, which I imagine was a Microsoft idea--get the things out into the wild for Christmas and pump up the sales of their biggest franchise and to get more Warzone REQ sales.

Back with I was pretty damn competitive with destiny I considered it. Now, not so much.

Honestly, that's not even the appeal for me. It's the comfort of the grip and the durability of the parts. After wearing out multiple 360 controllers, I'd like to keep my limited edition ones (both Halo 5 ones and the Titanfall one) in good condition. I hate the way the plastic stems grind away on the regular controllers, so having the metal ones of the Elite controller is awesome.

Also the ability to remap buttons to the triggers is great for some games. I don't have to move my thumbs from the analog sticks any longer.

What I like even more (and I didn't even know was possible at first) is the ability to change the way the sticks react. I have the right stick set to Aggressive, because I feel like Halo 5's sensitivity at close range is too high. So, I can go with Aggressive, lower my sensitivity, and still be effective up close.

Out of curiosity, which games do you play, and how do you use the buttons/paddles? I have nothing remapped (As far as stock buttons go) in Halo 5, and this is my paddle setup:

Upper-Left: Y (switch weapons)
Upper-Right: D-Pad Right (switch grenades)
Bottom-Left: A (jump)
Bottom-Right: B (Thruster Pack)

I have used it on my PC for fallout 4 and the witcher 3 to map certain things to the paddles. In the witcher I mapped the activate button, jump and dodge etc to them.

Apparently, this thing is hard to find... No stores around me have one in stock.

Has been for a while, yeah. Microsoft said stock could be problematic through March. I picked mine up at Best Buy right before Christmas, and my store only had 2 on the shelf.

Even Amazon doesn't have any until the 26th. =( I actually finally decided to buy one and they aren't anywhere to be found.

Are prices reflecting the shortage? I have an extra one I've been meaning to sell off but have been really lazy. If prices are high because of the shortage I may need to get in gear.
