All I'm saying is we'll know everything about the 1900xtx before the nda expires at this rate, which is pretty cool.

A single x1800xt can hit 10k easily, you dont think crossfired r520 could touch your 13K score.

that doesn't impress me at all, but back to the topic of this thread. the r580 seems to be the awesome chip that r520 "fudo" was susposed to be. all we heard for over a year was fudo this and fudo that. how it was going to be so awesome. then it finally "kinda" came to market and was slaughtered by the 7800 512 "ghost" card 2 days latter. Hopefully the r580 will actually be a hard launch and will hit 13k + on 3dmark05. Face it ati fans. 2005 is a year that ati would love to forget. If these numbers are true, and i have no reason to assume thay are not true, 2006 might be a better year for ati, and for the entire video card industry, but more importantly video card buyers.

x1800xt are excellent 3dmark cards They may not be decent for Black and White 2 or call of duty or AOE3, but it seems to get very good 3dmark05 scores.

I guess there just arn't that many people with fudo and xfire. I wonder why? Maybe because fudo and crossfire were late to the dance? and missed there opputunity at the highend market. how many people are actually scrapping the sli boards for crossfire? not very many at all. This is why i said that the r580 might actually win some customers back, because fudo did not.

Well now you're arguing over a different matter. From your earlier posts you were making disparaging remarks about R520's performance as indicated by the comparison with your SLI'd GTs. That is potently untrue as myself and others have proven. It seems that now you're saying that R520's failure was it's lateness to market, which I don't think anybody's arguing with. So which is it?

cronic your 3Dmark05 score is exceptional for dual 7800GTs, Xbit only got 10923, I don't see what your point is, you can use watercooling to overclock your GTs really far and get a high 3Dmark05 score. What does that have to do with the topic at hand?
You should check out the posts over there about the two guys who switched from a 512MB 7800GTX and SLI'd 7800 GTs to an X1800XT. They both said they felt like the games were smoother and the IQ was better and were both very happy with the switch. R520 looks pretty weak huh?

The 512, right now, is the undisputed leader (Good luck finding one though). Additionally, most of the time if Nvidia doesn't win at avg or max framerate, then they edge ahead at minimum framerate. Check out X-Bits review. Only some have that minimum comparison but when they do Nvidia normally edges ATI out.

i had to look closer after seeing the score
why anyone would bother benching an ATi card without AA/AF turned up i don't know. i guess he was benching the FX60 more than the x1900

I guess my post may have been a little misleading. My point wasn't that the X1800XT has better frames than the Nvidia cards I mentioned (I've read plenty of reviews showing the opposite), but that there are in fact people in the world who have switched from the 7800 series cards to R520 and been very satisfied. Not only with fps but also with IQ. Cronic's statement about the R520 being a joke is simply untrue, except in the fact that it was so late to market. Performance wise it's a close 2nd to the fastest card out on the market.
