I was surprised at the X-men movie because not only did they do a decent job, but they also didn't screw it up. I don't think there are any angered X-men fans out there. At most, they might have a few qualms but in the end, atleast they didn't screw it up. Anywaz, they definatley should have made Cyclops buffer and more of a leader. Rogue should have also been older and in better shape. But i guess they are also trying to add their own changes into the X-men series for movies, ehh, who's to complain.

The problem with casting comic book movies is finding actresses with the proper . . . umm . . . assets, shall we say. I mean, let's be honest - every comic book artist out there has horny-teenager disease when it comes to drawing women.

I thought the casting was dead on. With exception of Famke Janssen and Hugh Jackman, the majority of the team was rather young, which would make sense considering that it was their first real time in action - the general ineptness of the X-Men in fighting should demonstrate that - the train station, the statue, etc. Perhaps Professor X will have to design a training field for his team in the next picture . . . can you say Danger Room? ;)

Rumor has it that the next film will feature the Sentinels . . . I just hope it doesn't have Gambit in it; gad, he's annoying.

when i said jack being bigger, i meant more muscular.

GAMBIT IRRITATING?!?!?! IMPOSSIBLE, i bet your jealous of hist style :p

I finally saw it last night. After waiting 20 years for this movie I have to say... it really, really liked it! Sure they mucked with origins and ages a little, but there was no other way to do it in the time they had.

The casting was great. I never thought they could find a good Logan but Hugh Jackman worked. Even though his figure was wrong they did a good job making look good for the part. Jean was great, Scott was a dick (as expected). All the rest worked too with the exception of Sabertooth. He was so much better in the comic book. He sort of came off as a lame lionman in the movie, the actor looked too much like a pro-wrestler. I can let it slide though.

I give it 9/10, and coming from someone who holds X-Men as close to his heart as me that's saying something.

PS: It made the Phantom Menanace look like a crappy made for TV movie.

I would tend to agree with Xerox Man - Gambit is annoying. He's great when he's going solo, but as part of a team he just doesn't work. At least in the comic, I feel like he's just there to fill in the roster. But that's just my opinion...

I loved this movie. I've been reading X-men comics since I was 10, and I have gone back and read most of the issues that came out before my time. I think the film incarnation of the comic was excellent. I did not care for the character of Sabretooth in the movie (they made him seem too stupid), nor did I care for Storm. I'm not sure if I didn't like Storm because of Halle Berry or because of the part that was created for her, but it was not enough to keep me from loving this movie.

Six claws up! :)

sabertooth does not growl like that, he talks a lot of smack. and one thing they ruined is hte past history between wolvie and sabertooth. that is relaly said because that pretty much crushes wolverines past.

They didn't really ruin it... Wolverine couldn't remember his past, remember? The same thing could have happened with Sabretooth. I had read somewhere that there was talk about this if (when) they do the sequel. Good call on Sabretooth's trash talking, though. He's not a complete animal. :)

One more vote for "Gambit does suck". His sole accomplishment is creating this lame "comic book heros that wear trenchcoats" trend.
