What the hell.

X1: Sucked BIG ASS. It was a nerd's movie that had awkward ass acting & dialogue. Don't mention shitty ass plot and anticlimatic ending.

X2: The best of all series so far. The opening scene with NC infiltrating Whitehouse is just absolutely epic. Great plot and action overall. It's hard to believe it's the same director.

X3: Am I the only one who liked X3? Movies don't have to be faithful to the comics you know. It was a decent flick with more action, more mutant powers AND a cohesive plot. X2 > X3 > X1

XO: I also liked this too. The movie showed off Hugh Jackman's action very well and his origin story of living in the backwoods in Canada. The rivalry between Sabertooth and Wolverine was pulled off nicely too. Why do people bitch about Deadpool? He was the same mouthy guy seen in comics. For god's sake, nerds got mad because he didn't wear his Spiderman uniform (hence ORIGINS!) and the movie took its creative direction to turn him into a super mutant. What's wrong with that? The part about taking an Adamantium bullet to the head = no memory is retarded though.

In short, I think people shouldn't bitch about X3 & XO when X1 was fucking trash of a shit.

X2 > X3/XO > X1

honestly i remember little about most of em, but the 3rd was especially hamfisted

I really do not know why they feel they have to change SO MUCH over these things to try to "appeal to the general public".

The original Sentinal storyline, or the New Mutant series, or the Phoenix Saga, or Wolverine's Past (and problems with sanity at times) would all be good sagas to do entire series on.

The special effects are at the point where they can make these guys look as cool as they do in the comics w/o spending a fortune and a half, they should just use a slighly modified comic script to do it.

All these changes just makes it hard to address things like Mojo, Japan, Cypher and his robot techno guy and so many other possibilities.

They are cutting off their legs in attempts to make their boobies bigger. :p

Or, and Emma Frost was in leather, not a bunch of lacy stuff...... Small but important diff......

Saw it today.

Good reboot. Not as good as the Star Trek reboot but was fun nonetheless, which I don't think I've ever said about a xmen movie.

Just saw it, much better than I expected!

Wolverine cameo was funny. Loved the anamorphic lens look, especially with the rack focus - looked cool. Also interesting twist on Mystique.

I thought the music could have been bassier (especially after seeing Inception!), and they cut a lot of scenes before impact (like when Kevin Bacon blew up the military guy on the boat, but it cut before he really blew up).

I had kind of a hard time with the age/look differences between Professor X and Magneto - Professor X looked like the kid from Scrubs, whereas Magneto looked like he could be Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. "I wanna be your friend!" :awe:

Fun show!

A very awesome friend treated me to a matinee showing today and DAMn this movie rocked. I'm a hardcore x geek from the 80s-90s and they strayed from the lore a bit but it was awesome to see Sean Cassidy and Moira mactaggart come to life in screen

And Kevin Bacon in a leisure suit, classic!!!

Going to definitely see it again.

I didn't stay to after the credits, was there a final scene!?

X-3 was crap.

20th century fox killed off the best characters so that Marvel studios could not continue to make x-men movies.

Everyone knew that Marvel was opening their own production studios, so 20th century made a preemptive strike so that Marvel could not move forward wit any more x-men movies.

Can't they just do a reboot like every other studio?

Going to see it tomorrow afternoon. So far sounds like it's getting a good reaction. I rather enjoyed X2 and X3, but I'm not a comic book fan nor do I know what it's supposed to be.

SPOILER
Professor X and Magneto (at this point, just Erik), walk into a bar and you see a cigar in an ashtray. They walk up to the person smoking and the camera pans back, it's Wolverine. Charles and Erik say something to the extent of "We would like to have a word with,.." and Wolverine cuts them off with; "Go fuck yourselves". Prof X and Magneto turn right around and walk away. The presentation and delivery had the entire theater cheering and screaming.

The 2nd cameo is Rebecca Romijn. Mystique is trying to seduce Erik and he says; "You are too young" she then morphs into Rebecca Romijn and says; "How about this?" I do not remember the exact wording, but it was somewhere near there.

It was fucking great.

+1

I thought that part was awesome

I thought the movie was excellent.

I didnt go in to see emotional shit, I came to see a scifi action film with comedy.

the cold war aspect made me enjoy it further.

imo, everyone should watch it

I'm a bit puzzled at calling this a "Sci-Fi Action film"... where was the action? You mean the 15 or so minutes near the end and the 5 minute scene in the middle? I'm not sure 20 minutes out of 135 constitutes an action film :hmm:.

Totally agree. This was a damn fun movie. Great cast, hot women(jeebus christ January Jones is hot as Emma), the cold war era aspect and humor made for a movie well worth watching.

When it was over not only were people clapping but about half the theater stood up and clapped and cheered.

Was Darwin powerful in the comics? He went out pretty easily for the power he has.

Saw this movie today, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Havent seen any of the other x-men movies or even know the story behind the comic, so it made it kind of "fresh" for me. this possibly made it even more enjoyable :p

OK, what the crap? I stayed after the credits Friday night, and there was no scene.

And yet, according to wikipedia:
He (Darwin) ends up appearing to be killed by Shaw after he is forced to eat nuclear energy. His body forms a metallic like material, then stone to try to contain the energy planted inside of him. After the credits roll, he is seen reforming his body into energy on the moon.

That was kind of depressing. Wolverine survives shit that disintegrates people (phoenix), but Darwin goes down like a pussy... Just cause he's black.
