that doesn't justify. a friend of mine who was straight since he was born and in high school, he decided to become gay because he wanted to taste what gay life was like. he swore to me he'll be straight again once he's done with college. how is that going to determine by birth?

you don't "decide to become gay". he already had gay tendencies.

I'd love my kid regardless, but the age difference would probably affect how much people will be shocked....but it also depends on the behavior of the kid.
If the kid is 25 and has a history of having girlfriends and acting hetero, then it's a big shocker. If he's not had any relationships by 25, then I would have already had my suspicions.
At 14 years there hasn't been enough time to have developed any history.
Yep. I bet your friend has always been attracted to men. It was just he was "free" to be who he is when he got to college. I bet after college he will still be gay.
My question should have been more of "how would you feel" instead.
I wouldn't do much regardless. As gay people are becoming more uprising in this world.

Not trying to call a mod out here, but please explain why ATOT also has many good, contributing members who happen to be Catholic, Christian, et al and they suffer worse abuse at the hands of many agnostic, atheistic and anti-religion posters? Why are the anti-religious posters not sent on vacation/banned or at least held to the same standards mods like holding someone who posts something regarding anything but positive responses regarding homosexuality? why not? acceptance is one thing, but its not like we have to pretend its optimal. biological reproduction and evolution sometimes goes on the good enough principal, which is why human reproduction is hardly perfect after all these years. homosexuality is rather benign as glitches go, but well, its still a glitch. its not to say they should be treated any different, but like if you had the ability to make your child not gay/smarter/prettier through some future dna fiddlin device why not?
people don't have to swing from one irrational extreme to another. one side is saying that god hates fags lahdeedah and all that nonsense. the other side overreacts and starts claiming god makes homosexuals so all is good! acceptance yay! but hey, god makes lots of things....cancer, children that are born with horrible defects and die etc so that doesn't really make much sense either. the sad truth is that it simply a glitch, like any other biological/mental illness. like people born into the wrong sex'd body for instance, their lives are torturous and they do anything to change their bodies to fit their mind. would you not fix that if you could? acceptance cannot become delusion. we've seen this happen with some in the deaf community that consider cochlear implants deaf genocide for instance, or one set of deaf parents wanting to make sure their child grows up deaf.
