You do see fatdragondzc and 0roo0roo posts are also modded.
So let's explore what's the point of this thread.
Question is : "WWYD if your child was gay?"
possible ways to answer:
1) do nothing - ok answer, because afterall gay is normal right. Then what's the point of this question proposed, hence this should be locked.
2) gay is bad - bad answer, speed trap, hence this should be locked as well.

This thread is just retarded and goes nowhere.

We have many good, contributing members who happen to be gay.
You may not continue to post such verbal abuse on our forums.
Doing so again may be reason to suspend your posting privileges for an indefinite period of time.

Is that clear?

Not even in my top 100 worries, but I would not care. If I ever have a child, he/she would be an efficient killer.
And I think people should allowed to say what they think on this subject, good or bad. It's kind of funny.

Not trying to call a mod out here, but please explain why ATOT also has many good, contributing members who happen to be Catholic, Christian, et al and they suffer worse abuse at the hands of many agnostic, atheistic and anti-religion posters? Why are the anti-religious posters not sent on vacation/banned or at least held to the same standards mods like holding someone who posts something regarding anything but positive responses regarding homosexuality? I mean ffs, a topic was locked because someone called people who think Tony Romo is good "Tony Romo-Homo's" (which is quite fifth-grade but made me chuckle regardless) but I've seen more than one post bashing/flaming/attacking religious beliefs that had mods posting within...

I don't agree with the mod crackdown on this topic but give the poor persecuted Christan shtick a rest. Religion threads are always a lightning rod of controversy whenever they pop up in these forums, this is to be expected. You are (or should be) capable of defending your position so no special protection should not be granted.

If we didn't have 'good contributing members who are gay', does that mean you wouldn't be threatening people who post anti-gay comments?

FWIW, I'd love my kid regardless.

honestly this is exactly what I was thinking myself as I was reading through this thread.

I'd love for the mods to go old school, and just let this be a free for all thread. Let people post whatever they want, and then let other posters respond however they want.

Mmmmmm.... a temporary ban-free neffest.

Butter!

I would teach him how to kick ass, because he'll have to deal with bigotry in his life.

I wouldnt do anything. A sexual preference is something you are born with, not something you learn or choose. It can't be changed whether you want it changed it or not.

Well, i live in a fairly reasonable state, so i wouldn't do anything... if i were living in the bible belt, i'd probably send my kid off to some northeast boarding school so he/she doesn't get beat up/harassed/or worse.

What about if he/she turned gay.

It'd be a shock to the system at first. I'd probably even have some reservations about it and wonder if I did something wrong in parenting. Then I'd likely get over and and accept it.

Anyone who says that they wouldn't have some sort of internal turmoil is a ****ing liar... IMHO :)

What people would call "turning" gay or bi is really their actual orientation coming to the surface.

People don't turn gay...lol.
Michael Jackson is still a black man no matter what color his skin is...lol.
Most people just try to suppress their feelings, for their own reasons, until they splode.

i don't think mods should post like that, they are supposed to be dispationate anonymous enforcers.
imagine if cops started voicing personal opinions at abortion rallys.

Then call me a ****ing liar. I know I would have had some issues years ago(when I was a teenager), but I have too many great friends who are great people who just happen to be homosexual. Of course I can't be 100% sure, but I really don't think I'd give a shit.

Being gay isn't like catching a cold or just deciding you're bored with being straight.

If it was a guy I'd steer him away from acting like a fairie, and if it was a girl make sure she doesn't shave her head and act butch. What gender you're attracted to is one thing, but how you act is definitely your choice.

Well a good start is not buying him those clip on faerie wings. But other than that I'm not sure.

You're gonna sit there and tell me that your kid comes to the dinner table one day and says they're gay and all you do is say "That's nice honey, I'm happy for you. Pass the spinach?"

I don't care who you are, if you've known someone all your life and they just "change" all of a sudden, there has GOT to be some inner monologue going on with regards to the change.

I don't have any problems with homosexuals, but if my best friend were to come up to me today and say "I'm gay," you better believe that I'd be running things back in my mind from the 8 years we've known each other. I love the guy like a brother, but only a robot can take that kind of news and just immediately accept it without reservation.

I'd have to agree that a pretty large part of that is learned behavior, though it is undeniable that some children are just more masculine/feminine than their gender would typically be.

I'd sit down and talk with him/her about it. It's a pretty fucking big deal for how their life is going to turn out, so no it's not "pass the spinach" news.

But I don't think I'm going to be wondering if I did anything wrong or struggling with myself over the news.

Oh come on now, you're saying gay can't be a decision?

I got some ocean front property in Arizona, interested?

And what is the point of this thread. If anyone says anything negative, Miss mod is going to jump down their throats. Sounds like a setup to me.
