wtf? why so expensive :(

Why are jackets so expensive? $140 for a jacket and that's 'on sale'? WTF?

I'm annoyed because I don't have anywhere near that kind of dough to spend on a jacket. I'm at the "maybe I'll spend $40 on a jacket if it's warm, reasonably agile, not ridiculously large, and water-resistant."

Of course, these are nowhere to be found when I am looking. X_X (And dare I say, in my size)

If do you get one, go to Nordstrom. I've just gotten myself a wool jacket ~200$. The good thing is that you can return/exchange at any time, might it be 10yrs from now. I'll do that at the next dry clean. j/k

Go to Ross/Marshalls/TJ Maxx.

I just got a columbia brand ski jacket for $34.99. Same jackets they sell at REI and sporting shops for $150+.

A t-shirt goes for $20 nowadays, you're expecting 5 times the material for $40?

Less asshole-ish response: You can get a sub-$50 jacket after Christmas. That's when the Spring lines come out, and stores are desperate to clear shit out. Gap has 50% off sale items pretty often. Otherwise, my local Sears had their winter coats on sale starting a few weeks ago. Post-Christmas is firesale time.

Jacket prices annoy me as well, mostly because I live in a climate where I only need a good jacket a few days a year. I hate having to pay more than $50 for something I won't wear more than 5 days a year.

Burlington Coat Factory?

I spent $30 on a warm fleece, works good in everything mother nature has thrown at us this year (which hasn't been much, as it's generally been pretty much always above 20 degrees)

A fine quality jacket makes the man. It says "I've arrived and now that I'm here I don't have to wear ill-fitting, deconstructed third world garbage anymore." Women will immediately recognize the wearer as a man to be taken seriously, a man they want to get closer to. This kind of quality can't be had for $40 or $140. Quality men's winter jackets start at $300. I paid more for my current winter jacket than I paid for my first car.*

*This part is true, it's a really nice jacket and it was a really crappy car.

They're turning kids into slaves just to make cheaper sneakers
But what's the real cost?
'Cause the sneakers don't seem that much cheaper
Why are we still paying so much for sneakers
When you got them made by little slave kids?
What are your overheads?

Women who like men because they wear expensive jackets are generally gold diggers who are looking for a victim.

Obviously, as in other Tridentboy threads, the OP thinks he deserves "the best" but has no idea that such things actually cost money.

This is precisely why I only wear a loincloth, tissue boxes for shoes and a dirty tarp draped over my shoulders. I don't see any gold diggers around here, do you? 😀
