I know, I've been getting the same stuff only from Prez. Bush and DICK Cheney asking me to pay the republican party $2500 to have the pleasure of dining with them. Blah, you can tell I'm democrat 🙂
I firmly believe in my right to own and carry firearms. However, I don't like getting NRA crap in the mail either. I guess they assume that since I'm a gun owner, that makes me want to be part of their organization.
I'm not opposed to them, I just have no interest in joining.

Why would you be opposed to something you're completely unfamiliar with? At least go take a gun safety course so you know what it is you blindly hate.

No, it's not. A gun is a tool like any other tool. It can be used for good, or bad. Having an opposition to something you're completely unfamilier with is an irrational reaction. It's often the same reaction racists have. They are racist because they are unfamilier with the people they hate, and therefore fear them.

How can you NOT be familiar with what a gun does? It doesn't take a rocket scientist. The fact of the matter is, I choose not to own one, I choose not to fire one, and I choose not to carry one. The fact that I would rather not receive NRA mailings backs up that.
I see nothing wrong with that idea. Some people don't like those that drive big SUV's. Well, that's their opinion.

That's fine. I'm just pointing out that the vast majority of people I know who are anti-gun have never handled one, much less learned gun safety. All they know about guns is the greatly hyped BS from movies and TV. The ones that I have convinced to take gun safety courses DID change their views on gun ownership.
