<< I just want to clarify something: I do NOT think that posing for Playboy is wrong. It's just hard for me to come to terms with the fact that someone who used to come across so sweet and innocent is going to be naked for the entire world to see.

I know they all grow up sooner or later: Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, etc. But those chicks are older (at least much older than me), and to see someone young posing naked... I guess I just think she should grow up a little bit first.

I think it boils down to "my career needs a shot in the arm."

Kids grow up fast nowadays. LeeAnn has been a star since she was 14. She's a multimillionaire. She has probably been to nude beaches in far away places. She's had to grow up fast.

There are a lot of people who don't associate nudity with sex. There are people who grow up nude, socialize nude. This probably has nothing to do with LeeAnn. I just like typing the word nude. lol

I say more power to her. I'd rather she pose nude that get some dumbass tattoo.

OK, well maybe this is her "coming of age" debut.

Britney did her thong act on MTV, Mariah Carey came out with "Butterfly," and Janet Jackson released "If" (you all remember that?). So maybe this is just little LeAnn showing the world what she's made of.

....but does she gotta show all of it??? I personally don't think she's all that pretty.

I hope she does the famous "ass to the camera, arches your back and looks sweetly at the camera from her shoulder" pose that all men love to see women do.

Geez, I never thought she'd go for it. I always thought of her as sweet and innocent too.. shrug. Though posing for Playboy can be done tastefully... sorta. Hey, I'm the kinda guy who thinks a naked woman is a work of art. I'm sure if she does it she'll be amazing.

That will be a glorious day in the world. 10 bucks says the Playboy editor doesn't wait 5 minutes till after they turn 18 to call ...

It's really not surprising. WhiteTrash is something like a disease within that industry and that geographical area. I know because I grew up in there. One has to aspire to be better and talent doesn't guarantee it; in fact it draws the opposite. Good lord, I went to school with Billy Ray Cyrus and he is just now understanding ths affliction (although I think he will never understand why a "mullet" haircut is a bad thing).

LeAnn cornered the teen girl market where Madonna and Janet Jackson had become too old for them. With a couple of crossover hits she became the next young "thang." But Brittney and Christine did the same thing and undercut her fan base. Now her biggest base are the pervy old men who will pay to see her nekkid (although her 'country' kin probably consider her to be too old, now. ;) )

If she rose about her WhiteTrash roots, she would feel more about her music and concentrate on telling melodic stories instead of "what will get more face time - or how can I draw attention back to myself." But then I don't think she really is an artist. This has nothing to do with her being a singer. Hey, if she wants to pose I am not against it. But don't kid yourself about her being a sweet innocent young girl.

Hey I'll reply before I get the ban (1st for me).

Here it goes: last year LeAnn made this big stink in Nashville about "its the music she really cares about." Someone had written in the Nashville Report (local music trade rag) that she was some music exec's prepubescent fantasy girl.

She told everyone that she could be ugly and she wouldn't care what she looked like, just as long as people considered her talents as an artist. You see (maybe you don't because you are not from there), its one thing to ride your looks to stardom - I don't mind (Racquel Welch did it, and I still thinks she's a hottie). But when someone preaches at the tops of their lungs about pay attention to me the artist, and they fall from the radar, and so they pose to get attention. Its called hypocrisy. And in my opinion, which I am entitled to, that's trash, too.

You want country singers that get attention with their talent? Try Shelby Lynne (although she gave up Nashville to go to Austin -you lucky b@stards), Matracia Berg, Deborah Allen, the list goes on...

Oh, also Emmylou Harris - who I have the extreme hots for. Also, I would really, really, *really* want to have carnal knowledge of Shelby Lynne. So no, I'm not gay. I just want so much for people to look upon the Appalachians as something more than inbred hillbillies. The stereotyping is suck. And it hurts the cause when something like this happens.

Oh, another thing.

That girl from the Waltons, Mary Sue or Mary Ellen (?? dunno, the oldest with the dark hair and smokey eyes). She posed for Playboy. One of my first ones that I kept stashed in the basement when I was in high school.

She posed because she said that her career as an actress was over but that she wanted all those fanboys to get a good look at her before she felt she was too old to pose. Now, that was class.

And damned if I wouldn't dream of her up on Walton Mountain.
:p

that and she's vieing for attention with skanky Spears...

There's one operative difference -- LeAnn Rimes can sing very well.

<< Actually, she's 19.

I'm pretty sure it's true, heard it on the radio this morning.

Does Playboy have a website you can go to that will show who's going to be posing for them in the coming months? If so, I can't go to it b/c my college will expel me, but if someone wants to check it out for me....

Sarah,

Where did you get this information? I searched the Net and couldn't find any thing about her possibly posing for Playboy.
