FWIW, some industry big-wigs have confirmed they do exist and do fulfill the promise of better crossfire support.

Was disappointed in the lack of reviews this morning. If the results are good I'm probably going to throw in a second 7950. However if the delay is just for a single day then I can only conjure up some mild annoyance to the lack of a delay announcement.

Yes, these drivers are supposed to improve crossfire performance.
