Cosmos is the suck! CTmod, and random individual mods are your friend. Seriously, customize your own UI, you'll thank me in the end.

I could spend the time to download random mods to completely change my UI, but I'd rather be playing the game 🙂 I've seen a lot of videos with different mods, and I still like my setup better.

I used to think Cosmos rocked... and also because I didn't want to have to grab individual addons for CTMod... but after taking maybe 30 mins to get setup with CTMod, I felt it was completely worth it. Even load times are faster... Cosmos was one big hog.

I got in for 2 seconds, then disconnected and can't get back on again. This sh!t happens every time blizzard puts out a wow patch. What a load of BS. And yet, I got back time and again. Damn you blizzard, damn you to hell.

I really wonder what the difference is between the test servers and these... what could be so fuct up... aside from the load ?

I kinda agree w/ what somebody said earlier. They don't wanna spend money on new servers because they know some people will give up logging into the server after a few minutes, ensuring that the existing servers can handle the load. With 6 million plus subscribers, they can care less if a few hundred quit the game due to login frustration.

The test servers are supposed to be running the new hardware. The regular servers are supposed to be upgraded to this new hardware next month.

I prefer Nurfed compilation with a few addons... mixing and matching is sage advice though, no one compilation will have everything you'd like, and all compilations will have some stuff you don't like/want/need.

so that means when your server is up to have its hardware upgraded thats at least 2 days offline. but wait... they didnt test the new hardware before installing it; another 2 days later & they've identified the issue.

Er...they have nothing to do with one another.

It's just that, like Quasmo said, if the servers go down or people have trouble logging in, you have 2 million+ North American+Aussie players all trying to get into the site to see what's going on.

They now use a low bandwith version for days like this, but even that is not enough. No server in the world can handle that load.

Why do you think they distribute patches via torrents?

i can log in but i logged out because i needed to fix teh broken addons, took a bit to get back in so it seems some are up

Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->World of Warcraft->REMOVE. There I'm done. 😀 They must have some very incompetent people working at Blizzard. I enjoyed the game for about a month. Time to find something better.
