Wow, paid maternity leave??

I suggest you rewatch the end of Idiocracy to learn why you plan is doomed to failure.

A skilled professional having 1, 2, or maybe even 3:O children is not going to compensate for some idiot having a "huge BIG litter". Especially if the professional waits until 30 to have them instead of in her teens.

Please try learning something of eugenics before you try using it to justify giving entitlements to women.

lol

You're so cute!

The notion that people and businesses don't benefit from paid maternity leave is complete nonsense.

Whether you like it or not, people are going to have kids and offering assistance to those that do benefits society in general.

Businesses are part of society, as are all the bitter mysognostics who inhabit Internet forums. If you want to reap the benefits of society then you are going to have put with things that don't necessarily benefit you directly.

The real world works a little differently pal.

US Govt chooses to allocate OVER HALF of its budget to corporate welfare in the form of the Military Industrial Complex. No-bid contracts gifted to large corporations whose leadership is occupied by ex-politicians and ex-military brass that approved previous no-bid gift contracts to those same corporations.

That choice to pour over half of the budget into exploding the bodies of people all over the world comes at a price... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

European countries who are not pretending to be the world police and who don't pour over half of their budget into military spending have shit tons of money for spending on other things such as paid maternity leave... coming from taxes (NOT FROM COMPANIES THEMSELVES!)

Taxes do not need to be higher to finance this... but choices to not pour more than half of existing tax revenue into corporate welfare military industrial complexes need to be made in order to make such things as tax-funded maternity leave, healthcare, etc possible.

it all comes down to how govts choose to allocate their existing tax revenue
to the Military
or to things that make life better for everyone

Do I need to point out the contradiction there?

I would propose cutting the military and lowering taxes (or better yet keep taxes the same and cut the deficit).

I have a feeling that many of those claiming that such systems are wasteful, harmful to economies, etc...

...have never lived in a society with such systems
having lived both in the US and in a society with such systems it is pretty painful to read the rants against such systems from people who are completely ignorant of how such systems function

there is no contradiction.

the US spends shitloads on military waste
other countries spend shitloads on making a healthier society... and it works.

I see that this thread is being trolled by people who no ability to understand how they would benefit from a program that does not target them explicitly.

simple minds unable to think more than 1 step ahead

Ah, the good old 'real world', that special place that only autistic accounts seem to inhabit whereby longterm planning means looking beyond the next payday.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. There are no guaranteed 60K a year jobs, no ½ year bonus for having a kid, and people have to take responsibility for their own actions.

I lived in Canada from age 1 to age 28. The systems in place there benefit lazy, poor and sick people more anyone else. I prefer the US way of doing things in almost every way.

And if we cut it we would probably be somewhere close to a sustainable budget

Having a sustainable budget doesn't mean we should start blowing money on bailouts for the failure of feminist ideology.

And I see in this thread liberals using any means possible to justify taxpayer funding of their feminist ideology including resorting to eugenics*.

*note that they are also demonstrating at the same time they have no idea how to effectively implement a eugenics program.

Yep. I have no doubt that Canada or Norway is a "superior" society if you are lazy, poor, or a woman who thinks she is entitled to the same career advancement as a man despite taking year-long paid sabbaticals.

For the rest of us though...

pretty sure you don't know what eugenics is. Hitler did

The rest? It's only the US that's backwards... how could the rest of the world all be wrong?

all i see here is a selfish child-like mind. hate to shatter your pre-programmed think tank produced world-view, but these systems are working TODAY fantastically well, benefitting families and society alike.

Not wanting to pay for other people's life choices is not selfishness.

But hey if you really think that way I can pm my address to you so you can send me a check to prove how unselfish you are 🙂

they suffer from the customary "America is best" mental conditioning. the idea that other countries do things differently must mean that those countries are worse off as a result.

it is sad to see actually
