The problem has been identified, and we are actively working on a resolution. There is no impact to user data or functionality, this is strictly a front-end display issue. anyone else getting world server down
I guess I just figure that since I'm at school now I don't go to the movies and therefore don't spend that money anymore .. I guess that would mean I have that money EXTRA from what I would normally be spending ... but does that mean I should be spending it? Arrrgh... I dunno.. Maybe if I play the open beta some more I won't be able to say no 😛

I can already tell I'm going to get as little sleep as I did during the DiabloII Stress Test. That was a brutal two weeks... Fun though! :thumbsup:

ahhhhhh not diablo 2 ahhhhhhhh.. i spent a good year of playing far too much of that blasted game.. i still have one account left with amazing items on it. i don't play anymore though. BUT WHEN THEY COME OUT WITH DIABLO 3 WITH AN INTERFACE SIMILAR TO WoW'S...... MY OH MY OH MY!!!!!!!! THAT I WILL PLAY LIKE A BLOODY BAS**RD!!!!!!!!!!!

And most of the lag is coming from a bogged down item server. You might notice that you get the most lag when looting or crafting stuff.
There are about 40 servers, so thats 12500 characters per server. Most mmorpgs have no more than 3000-4000 per server. That's insane.

I doubt that those 500,000 people are playing at the same time. That probably just the number of accounts.
But really guys, this is a stress test. You are stressing the servers and thus you will lag. In fact, that's part of your job. A lot of people complained about the same thing with EQ2 beta yet the retail version has been lag free. The lag will most likely not be there when the game goes retail.

Actually last week was what they called the stress test when they only let in fileplanet people. Now it is open beta and anyone could sign up. But I realize they are still testing the servers and stuff.
The lag has been getting better, especially if you play later after everyone has gone to bed.
