Fileplanet got a small % of the keys but open will have much more once it comes around.

Oh yea its just for North America and some other place else but I forgot, Europe is later this year.

Same here, i've been a subscriber for about 6 months now, and always get in on all the betas they have running. I think it's a great system.

Well I had to jump servers because all my friends didn't make it on the east coast server.

So here I am:
Test6 - Horde - Skace Undead Priest LVL 7

Test6 is the central PVP server 😀

BTW, If you played in closed, you ARE allowed to play on the new test servers. But nobody can join your servers, cuz I guess they are packed or something.

Bah its not that hard.. its like crack.. they meet some people they like and you play with them alot of girls get addicted .. specially ones that are already kinda prone to chat rooms..
casue when it comes down to these games are nothing but a social event =P

we have 4 cute real life gamer girls in our guild that has been up and running for over 10 years with the same people...

btw we have moved to PVP4 public server so we can kill Horde newbs =P
look out for Sinister on pvp4 thats us =P
 
Does XP's unzip utility unzips the compressed file properly? I used Pkunzip 9 for the first stress test and since then my trial has expired.

It does???? Yeah, I'm talking about the current FilePlanet sponsored stress test.

Last nite, before I went to bed, I got the FilePlanet email with my key and DL instructions. So I started the download, then went to bed, and found it was finished this morning before I went to work. The email said I would need to use Winzip 9.0 or later so I just assumed it was zipped. So is it an exectuteable?

I looked at what I have dl'd so far from bittorent and it's no zip. Bunch of data files and folders plus executable. Must be FP releases it zipped. What's the size? Full from bittorent is a bit less than 2.6gb.

In that case to answer your question, i'd say xp's unzip should do the job. You know winzip is a free dl though right, if it doesnt work.
 
Well, I DL'd Winzip 9 awhile back but it comes with trail window which has since expired....it won't work anymore unless I pay 'em.

the problem is WinRar doesn't decompress it correctly

Fileplanet must have some deal Winzip because according to the Beta Forums

the client downloaded through blizztorrent is not zipped

why wont you people just follow the directions.. common wtf.. everyone should have Winzip by now...
its the standard compression for just about everyhting except warez...
which tends to use rar and ACEs..

sigh I love how everyone automatically blames FP for everything..

I have been an FP customer for 2 years.. and its a great service if you like to dload mods patches and betas...always fast and no waiting..

just buy or download the trail for winzip it never ever time bombs.. it just comes up with a register me popup that you can go around every time...

the thing is fileplanet knew a ton of people would subscribe to fileplanet for the sole purpose of downloading the STF

they have a huge banner that says NO WAIT downloads and what did they do make people wait
for 12-24 hours or even more for a service they paid
when th ST only lasts 5-7 days waiting a whole day is a whole lot

They cannot claim "ignorance" because they know how many people participated in the last stress test

they are the ones that advertise a NO WAITING EVER to their subscribers
while even after I became a subscriber I had to wait 8 hours just for them let me download WoW


the last game I played for any significant amount of time was Warcraft : TFT
so no I don't download alot of patches or betas and I paid money just to play WoW early

not to mention the hide their 7.95 a month plan for the World of Warcraft ST so you have to search for it because they knew people would sign up Just for the Stress test instead of only appearing to have an option to sign up for $15

I will never use Fileplanet again so yes I feel very ripped off


As for the Zip problem that is all I read in the Beta forums so I have no idea if that was true or not

as for your comment on ZIP , RAR is a superior compression scheme , not to mention the program is a lot better that is why I use it

and WINRAR does unzip so the fact that you had to use Winzip tells me at least Blizzard if not Fileplanet made a deal with Winzip

because WinRar will extract any other Zip file
 
I used the torrent download this time, but for the last stress test I had to use 7-Zip to unzip it. It worked great and it's free...
