I'm not sure if you read the previous posts but you need to use Winzip 9.0 if you are downloading from FP. Winrar sees the zip as corrupted.

follow the instructions...it works. Although one of the servers wanted me to wait in line, the other had a longer line and let me right in front. Ahh...fairness.

Are there a "good amount" of instances? Well, there's plenty to keep me busy...

More dungeons are on the way, but the ones that are already in the game have plenty of content to quest after. I've been into Blackrock Depths (BRD), for instance, at least 50 times - farming out gear for myself, unlocking hidden areas, and farming out gear for guildmates.

In the case of BRD *alone*, depending on the areas you want to tackle (BRD has 21 separate bosses & events), a run can take as little as 20 minutes or as long as 4+ hours. It's totally up to you to decide which areas you want to access - the instances in WoW are mostly non-linear, meaning you usually have the option to skip areas that you don't need.

Hmm, just passing the 40% mark on the DLer . . . DL speeds averaging anywhere from 10KB/s to 60KB/s. I understand how a BT client DL can save Blizzard a ton of money on bandwidth, but speed would be nice as well.
 
Started the DL last night, got my key this morning. DL is 83% done @ approx 50 kb. 2 hours until completion. bah...by the time I get home from work EQII will be here.
 
Yeah, I gotta pick up my EQ 2 order today from EB too. Wonder if Blizzard is gonna let us keep our toons for retail. That would be great cause I'd just cancel my EQ 2 order and keep playing. If not, it may be best to stop now...I know what class/race I want to play and I don't look forward to repeating a bunch of levels I've done before.
 
Used the Blzzard DL client and have 150mb to go. Getting 50-65kb down and about the same upload. Fileplanet still wasn't working last night so I started the DL client.

way more dungeons then that guy listed... i'm a lvl 19 pally and i swear i spend 30% of my quests/farming in dungeons killing mobs...

 
dungeons are not just caves you go in..
the dungeons he listed are instances with alot of quests in them with story lines and all...
you dont just farm dungeons in wow... there are major quests behind the real dungeons we have...

alot of fun and very dangerous. and only for your group

me as well, seems the torrent link in this thread before has the wrong checksums. :| they were saying on the official forums if you extracted with winrar it failed, and you needed to use winzip 9.0.

its not corrupted use winzip..
 
Man it's hella fun, but I only had a couple of hours to play last night. Did a few early quests which was great because without those quests, I would've probably killed the same monsters just to level up. Great work at trying to make mindless 'rat' killing more fun by giving it an acctual purpose for your character.

Quick question though, is there a map key or function that lets you see the areas you have already explored? Something similar to what Guild Wars had.
 
lord....after 10 hours and onl getting 60 megs on the torrent because my oh so wonderful campus hates BT....i said screw it, paid for one quarter of fileplanet, and now iin 30 minutes i've gotten 600 megs (a consist 400k/secd) and i still have plenty of bandwith to download from (i peak at 900)

if anyone wants me to aim it to them later (i'm capped at 70k upload tho) LMK
 
i know about the instances and i'm damn happy for those...

but from an old time D&Der... going into a dungeon means caves... means killing things for quests...
 
Lvl 5 Human Paladin.

I haven't trained yet. Is this one of those games where you want to save points to put into more advanced skills as they open up, or can I spend them on what's available now?
